“We missed you Matthews,” his friends slurred, slapping him on the back. “Yeah yeah,” Oliver muttered, rolling his eyes as his friends laughed, the beers in their hands turning out to be one too many though that’s always how it was with them. “If you guys puke on the boat ride I don’t know any of you.” In more ways than he really knew of, Oliver was grateful for his idiot college mates for dragging him out to the fair. If they hadn’t, he’d still be at home staring at his blank phone screen waiting for a certain name to pop up welcoming him home. You’d think Oliver would know better than to get his hopes up. Tossing back the remainder of beer in his glass, he laughed as his friends joked on about the strength of their stomachs as they headed towards the line.
Oliver made sure to get everyone paired off so it left him riding by himself. Oliver wasn’t prepared to get puked on or worse, kicked off the fair grounds because his buddies were total drunken idiots.
