It took a while to get out, but I’m very happy with the final chapter. It took over 200k words, 32 chapters, and 2 ½ years, but the story is finally finished and out there. I hope you enjoy it.

Excerpt:

It was while they were eating some take-out Chinese food one night that Ben began actually planning what he was going to do.

Rey was holding up the teriyaki beef on a stick, sinking her teeth into the tender meat and biting off a huge chunk before placing it back on her plate and chewing emphatically. All her attention was focused on what played on the television in front of them as they ate. So enraptured was she with what was happening with the show, it took her several minutes to feel his eyes on her.

Turning her head, she was curious to find Ben staring at her with a smirk on his lips, clearly amused watching her eat.

“What?” she asked with raised eyebrows and eyes wide, her cheeks puffed out like a chipmunk, full of food.

Shaking his head while his smile grew broader, he returned his attention to the plate in front of him. “Nothing,” he replied with a chuckle.

So yes it is a Halloween theme, but it was a fall exchange and hey, that’s just where the story is at right now, okay?

Opening his eyes to try to reason with her without losing his temper, he glimpses something that’s catching the light on her face. Apparently, while handling her glittery decorations, some of the shimmery dust must have come off on her hands. Now that he’s looking closely, she has a light sheen of sparkles in various locations on her face. It’s on her cheeks, up around her forehead, where she must have pushed her hair away, a smudge under her chin, and a cute subtle sprinkling of the substance on the tip of her nose.

I want to kiss it off.

Belatedly, he notices that with her arms crossed her breasts are pushed together, creating a decolletage that makes his mouth water.

With even more sparkles across the flesh heaving with ire.  

Groaning internally, it’s with a Herculean effort that Ben rips his attention away from her cleavage to walk back toward the dining room. He hopes she can’t tell he’s trying to discreetly adjust himself in his pants as he moves.

Brighter Than the Sun - Chapter 3

“You’re already insisting on paying me rent, which is completely unnecessary, by the way, so I’m paying for the laundry. End of story,” he concludes by throwing the last few items in, then moves to take off his sweatshirt.

That shuts her up faster than anything and she immediately forgets what they were arguing about.

“What are you doing?” she demands, her eyes widening and heart rate rising as the garment moves up to his shoulders. He’s not wearing anything underneath.

Shooting a what-the-hell-does-it-look-like-I’m-doing  look at her, he puts words to the visual cue of his expression, “I’m putting my sweatshirt in the laundry.”

Blood starts rushing in Rey’s ears as the sweatshirt comes off over his head and he struggles slightly with pulling his arms out. Her sight is now completely filled with his muscular, thick biceps that ripple hypnotically with each movement.

Finally, the sweatshirt is fully off and she’s treated to a breathtaking view of the naked upper torso of Ben Solo…and it has literally taken her breath away. Heat is suffusing her cheeks and she knows she is full-on blushing now and why the hell is it so hot in here?

The prompt is the entire summary for the story–> Rey Niima needs to be able to stay in the states to finish her engineering internship at Luke’s Engineering firm. Luke has just the plan.
