More WIP pics from our Dead Space cosplay! My BF was ridiculously busy when we made this one, as he had to use a special saw to cut out a bajillion plastic pieces for not only his own javelin gun and advanced suit, but for mine and Katharine's health packs (Ellie and Stross). I was busy with velcro and painting every one of those little plastic pieces =_= Once we put in the lighting they were looking pretty snazzy though! 

Only downside is that everything was made with thick plastic- super heavy! I would definitely use worbla next time for similar projects.

Here's some WIP photos I took a couple years ago when I made my Plasma Cutter for my Dead Space cosplay. I simplified the design into basic shapes, carved those shapes out of styrofoam, glued on foam sheets, and used PVC glue to fuse it all together. Lastly I put on an acrylic paint job to add blood spatters and a burnt effect. The final result was pretty good! Very lightweight and it held up well during conventions.
