being a vampire rn is really hard bc of the housing crisis like. older vampires do Not get it. if you were turned in France in 1350 I literally do not want to hear about it from you. do you know how hard it is to lure a young lawyer to your home when you have roommates?? and the roommates aren’t your accursed brides for the record. they’re just some dudes. one of them is a middle school teacher.

not to mention some landlords these days will even just straight up use the basement in the place YOU’RE renting for their own storage?? so you can’t even access the basement so you’re not sleeping in soil down there.

my one friend literally pays $1300 a month for a STUDIO and she just has a bunch of soil in a big plastic tub and she has to sleep with her knees all bent up.

Diablerie is actually quite common in the Sabbat, though most only do it as a shortcut to gain more power- not dissimilar to steroid use among Kine.

Things have certainly been interesting since my awakening, yes. Anarchs and Camarilla alike continue to be thorns in our society, my sect has gone back to making shovelheads, the inquisition seems to be gaining by the day. It almost feels like I'm dreaming.

As for confessional- there is nothing I need to confess before god that he does not already know, and my sins are not the kind which can be forgiven. I'd rather my Sire come back than be anything more than vaguely cordial with regards to that thing that claims to be benevolent while he allows his faithful to suffer so.

I am curious about your youth, though. Did you always follow the creator?

I do not like to dwell on the nature of my Sire, his Vitae flows through me because like a starving beast, he had to be devoured to allow for me to thrive. As those of the faith must feast on the blood and body of Christ, so too did I consume the blood and body of my own heavenly father who gave me life, it was only through this act that I could achieve the self that I was meant to be.

He serves no further purpose, and is nought but an unpleasant memory. I hope to Caine that he is suffering a thousand times more than what was inflicted in his unlife, my only regret is that I cannot do it to him myself.

Ah, sorry. I tend to forget myself when it comes to this topic, my Sire was... not a pleasant man. He thrived on the unrest as the biblical god came to my country, and took advantage of those of us who sought his teachings in such turbulent times.

Most under my rulership don't think to ask, so I've not had to think on him in quite some time. I hope that your creator was kinder, I feel almost lucky to have been one of the few created by such a horrid being.

You misunderstand, young one. It is not discomfort that I express, rather it is concern. Modern kindred society looks down on those who aren't aligned with any greater cause, and I know all too well the pain and suffering that can be caused when one goes against the majority of where they make their home.

These sects can be ruthless, many Princes would have outliers slain on sight if they don't prove themselves useful in other ways. You are new to me- as I've only recently emerged from torpor. I wanted to ensure your safety.

Call it what you will, but I would rather be given final death than allow for someone to be hunted for being an outcast. It was bad enough to be driven from my own home for such a thing, now I simply wish to take others under my wing, as it were.
