For me, the last hurdle is to acknowledge that I may have made a biased judgement in the past. Like court cases, if a precedence is proven unjust, any related judgment has to be reviewed. It can be consuming and tiring. I understand why some people don’t want to dwell on it too long.
But if you strive to do it despite all the mental anguish, you sincerely have my RESPECT and SUPPORT . You at times find yourself alone, but unbeknownst to you, there are people whose life has improved greatly because of your sincere tolerance.
Not everyone appreciates it. But many will see the value of it, through you. Who knows, maybe that’s the spark that they needed to get their reevaluation running.
Saying you're an atheist now when you were raised Christian doesn't erase the fact that you are culturally Christian and have to work to unpack it.
Becoming a feminist doesn't erase the fact that you were raised in a patriarchal society and you have to work to unpack misogyny.
Being a woman doesn't erase the fact that you were raised in a patriarchal society and you have to work to unpack misogyny.
Being a queer ally doesn't erase the fact that you were raised in a queerphobic society and you have to work to unpack that.
Being trans doesn't erase the fact that you were raised in a transphobic society and you have to work to unpack it.

Identifying as a marginalized identity does not mean you are instantly washed clean of all the bad shit you learned about that minority. You HAVE to put in the effort. Every day. For the rest of your life.

The belief that a real supernatural being called Satan/Devil/Lucifer exists and requires our veneration is no different from believing in any organised religion. The real reason Satan is even related to homosexuality is because organised religious laws that inhumanly punish non-heterosexual activities, viewing its criminality as egregious as murder and blasphemy. This means unlike other sinful acts, these three acts don’t have any redeeming qualities. If two men were convicted, how would death sentence help them? So that means once they were convicted, they were not viewed as fellow humans and therefore should be removed. This gayness equals Satanic is not exaggerated, in fact it’s blatant hatred and intolerance. Considering adultery, which was claimed to be sinful, but how many unfaithful men and women were punished,chastised, or even killed for their repeated immoral transgressions? How many were outright discriminated, disowned or mistreated? Clearly when it comes to sexual transgressions, adultery is a human misjudgment but homosexuality is demonic.
