I thought I loves a guy who treated me like crap, treated me like I was only good to him when he didn't have anyone else. Like I was disposable.

It took me approximately 4 or 5 years to finally feel like I could try to move on. And I mean i hadn't talked to him in that time. It was hard, trying to move on from the memories.

After I decided I needed to move on so I could be happy and fall in love "again" it took almost another 2 years before I men the incredible man I'm with now.

Being in this relationship for the past year and a half I've learnt a few things. Most importantly I learnt that wasn't love that was an attachment to a man that would give me the attention I thought I needed.

Over the past year and a half I've learnt; love is hard it's not all flowers and holding hands or cuddling and watching movies. It's working together to make each other better, it's finding that the person you love isn't perfect but if you love them enough their faults don't matter. It's encouraging each other to try your hardest and if it doesn't work that's ok because you can always try again or together we will find a way to make it work. In relationships there's fights but the most important thing to remember is it's not you vs. Your partner it's the 2 of you vs. The problem. Being in love means you love your person unconditionally despite their faults.
