@b4rtallen
The battle turned out to be more than he anticipated.
He had underestimated their opponent and their skills in particularly painful spells and fire arms. Tim was wrong to assume it was a run of the mill supervillain who had nothing better to do than ruin everyone else's day. He was confident that he and his team could take them out in no time. However, that's not what happened.
Instead, Tim had gotten injured. There were only so many ways he could counteract super abilities and good marksmanship. He could only out plan and prepare so much. It constantly weighed down on him that as a leader of the team, that objectively he wasn't as strong as them. Still, Tim refused to leave them behind. He would fight to his last drop of blood for the team.
However, he wasn't allowed to make that decision apparently. He was aware of a very, very annoying policy that seemed to be used by his team at the most irritating times. It was what he liked to refer to as 'Get Tim The Fuck Outta Here No Matter What' plan. He was sure there was an alternate, more official name. But he did not appreciate it. Why would he? Even if he wasn't as strong, he was just as capable. He would have figured it out. No battle was truly hopeless for him.
This time it was Bart who extracted him. A wise choice from his team, Tim thought bitterly as he paced waiting for one of them to show back up. Nobody except him seemed to believe how shrewd his team could be and how effective Bart was at weaponizing his cuteness. Of them all, Tim was the least likely to bitch at Bart.
He could appreciate the tactic, but it didn't mean he liked it being used against him. Where was this strategy during training?
Tim sat next to the medkit, stubbornly letting his injuries go untreated. If he was going to sat out of the battle, the least he could do was wait and make sure his team was okay before starting his repair work on his own injuries. Likely Bart would be coming through first while Cassie, Cissie, and Kon wrapped up.
It was the perfect time to stew.
He crossed his arms, ignoring the pain that seemed to come from everywhere. His team came first. No matter how much they annoyed him. He assumed they would take care of the villain, and come back in their own time.
So Tim sat waiting for Bart, and even though he had made peace with being the only normal on a team of supers, he found himself wishing he could do more.
