Like a razor to my skin,

Where the Tracks Were

North of my doublewide,

There's a place where,

You feel a sense of relaxing peace,

With the sound of the raging creek,

Or sometimes just slow flowing.

The smell of dirt, pine, and water,

Fill the refreshing air.

A grassy marsh and a rocky clearing too,

With black, shiny coals.

With surroundings so peaceful,

Daydreams just flow into your rested mind,

And salty tears rolling down,

Your wandering face,

Shouldn't be a shocking surprise.

What’s the Point?

What’s the point of living,

Day by day just surviving.

Happiness is so rare,

Nothing is ever fair.

Sick of the daily grind.

It’s the evil versus the kind.

Everyone watches out for number one,

Acts of kindness rarely being done.

What’s this world coming to?

You turn around and it’s something new.

Offense being taken over things so small,

And stand back up only to fall.

Your life completely resolves around

A job that works you to the ground.

Bills pile up around you.

You start to hate everything you do.

Life isn’t fun anymore,

Relationships become a chore.

It’s like the more you try,’

The harder it gets to get by.

You get stuck inside your head,

Too many thoughts to go to bed.

What’s the point of life,

If all you have is strife?
