Mondulkiri Cambodia. Staying in traditional houses and meeting the elephants in the forest. Pei enjoyed learning about the elephants history. It was a truly amazing experience being so close to these gentle giants. We learned that riding elephants is bad for them as they need to keep eating for large parts of the day. Working them too hard shortens their life expectancy drastically.

Myanmar is a land of contradictions, huge swathes of the country don't have power or running water but I've seen more gold here than anywhere else on the planet. Its a place where word like “extremist” and “Buddhist” get joined together to form phrases I never thought id hear. Its a country desperately trying to modernize after years of military oppression whilst at trying to hold onto what's left of its fractured culture.

We (me and Pei) started this blog to show you a snapshot of our life here and to share our photos and thoughts on this magical country and any others where life may take us. Enjoy!
