here i am still making mp100 comics in april of 2024. its just such comfort food. im highly normal about mob and tomes friendship

ID: three pages of black and white comics about Mob and Tome from the anime Mob Psycho 100.

panel 1: a leg and an arm extend from out of panel so that the hand on the arm can tie the shoe on the leg. lying on the ground is the other shoe, a cell phone, a keyring, and a polka dot carrying case. on the carrying case rests a sphere with a strange pattern on it. in the top right it says "January."

panel 2: a figure (its tome) pulls on a jacket. visible in front of her are a cabinet and a wall-mounted rack, all messy.

panel 3: with a door in the background, a closeup of tomes hand on her flipphone. the screen says "dialing."

panel 4: tome shrugs on her jacket and, holding her phone against her ear with her shoulder, smiles and says, "Oy, Mob! It's Saturday! Let's go telepath-hunting!"

panel 5: ritsu and mob sit on a blanket on the floor in front of a bookshelf. a little "pause" label extends from off-panel. both of them are holding controllers. ritsu leans against his hand, looking bored, as mob holds his cellphone to say "Hi Tome. Didn't we already find a telepath?" tome responds, "Oh, right."

panel 6: tome and mob dont really know what to say next. they both look cartoony and stupid. "..."

panel 7: tome, looking pained, curls a hand in the air in front of her and says, "Do you want to... walk around the city? Pointlessly?" mob says, "Sure, I guess that's what we normally do."

panel 8: tome looks mad. "No! We walk pointedly! In the direction of telepaths!" she points, pointedly. mobs eyebrows go a little down as he scratches at his face. "It's pretty funny that you were looking for so long when Takenaka was right next to you. For months. And then he left because you were too weird."

panel 9: tome, opening her front door, says, "Y'know what, Mob, maybe I'll invite him instead." Mob says "That's a good idea. Let's see if he can come with us."

panel 10: now exiting onto the walkway in front of her apartment, tome says, looking excited, "Actually I have been investigating something new. We should look for a haunted house!" mob thinks to himself, "Sounds like work..."

panel 11: mob looks skeptical and asks, "In the city?" tome responds, "Yep." behind mob, ritsu unpauses the game (ssb brawl) and starts thrashing mob (ritsu mains lucas, mob mains kirby)

panel 12: tome walks down the stairs of her apartment building to a concrete sidewalk with a row of trashcans nearby. she says, "My first guess is that new shaved ice place on 5th street." mob responds, "Oh." tome says "It's an old building! I think it's haunted!"

panel 13: mob, contented, says, "Okay. I'll meet you at the train station." pleased, tome responds, "Excellent!" ritsu looks back at mob with a mean smile on. the tv screen says "GAME!"

panel 14: mob yells, "Ritsu! What the heck!" tome, at a stoplight, replies, "Sure, he can come too." she presses the walk signal button. "BIP."

making this comic i learned that you cant just put masking tape over your mistakes and re-ink on top of it bc the masking tape looks too dark when its scanned in. i guess ill just have to warm up more and be more deliberate when i ink like some kinda loser. or i could become truly insane and start gluing on little pieces of bristol

I don’t trust Minori haters. I get not liking her for the fact that that’s how she would treat Mob if they met before but acting like she now isn’t making a conscious effort to change is insane. She’s a 14 year old girl. 14. I’m solely convinced you missed the whole point of Mob Psycho 100 if you think she’s still a horrible person, cause the point is to go against tropes in shounen, and that would obviously mean making the villains remain villains.

Minori completely had a change of heart and now she’s trying to better herself and acting like she’s still a heartless monster with no remorse is just so stupid. Also it feels like misogyny cause if she was a guy, people would forgive her way more quickly and easily.

I don’t have any proper wording but this is just my two cents so far.

What's your favorite mp100 episode and why?

THIS IS A REALLY TOUGH QUESTION FOR ME because I really enjoy the interlocking aspects of different episodes which really makes it hard to choose Just One. The same goes for picking a favorite character because my favorite part of them all is how they navigate the bonds in their lives!!!

Off the top of my head though my contenders were S2 EP7, S3 EP8, and S3 EP12. (S2 EP5 and S1 EP5 were runner ups though) so I practically have to spin a wheel to choose one to talk about here.

So we’re going with S2 EP7! Now I see a lot of people favor this episode because it shows Reigen’s loneliness, it’s funny to see him cancelled, it’s a view into how he acts without Mob by his side, and he’s a truly a good person deep down, and those ALL contribute to make an incredibly good episode, but they’re not what truly draws me in. It’s Two things: the significance of sunlight in mp100, and the fact this episode follows Mogami arc.

Before I even watched mp100 a friend showed me a post about the symbolism of sunlight in certain scenes, and it Stuck with me. Lighting is a super important motif in this episode, actually. The harsh artificial lighting of the tv show set is, well, harsh and scrutinizing, the darkness of Reigen’s room and the office lacks a natural warmth, it’s lonely and empty, the flashes of light from the press conference cameras are quick and shocking, leaving no time to recover like the questions they shoot off, and finally the sunlight facing Reigen when Mob tells him that he is a good person at the end, the warm glow of everything Positive that scene portrays. And the lighting of the previous episode begins that trend, with the dark alleyway and the harsh streetlamp. The intensities and colorations portray the emotional feelings of each scene AND symbolize Mob’s effect on Reigen. (Something something light of his life theyre FAMILY i tell you)

As for the Mogami arc tie-in. I don’t even have to spell it out it’s DIRECTLY after the message that “people need other people” AND Mob’s lesson of courage to stand up to people. And It Shows. He doesn’t hesitate to tell Reigen what he’s doing is an ass move, and is quick to distance himself when he needs it. And Reigen learns just how much he relies on Mob as a friend, just how much Mob has truly changed him as a person as well. He Learns and Continues to show that he’s Understood The Lesson throughout the show. He brings in Teru and Ritsu while Mob trains for the marathon right after all this!!!!!!!!!!! It’s all interwoven throughout the series because these past events are Never forgotten.

also a couple of things I like but don’t wanna write a paragraph about: I love how Reigen is an asshole and doesn’t get away with it as comic relief, I love the pretty accurate portrayal of the media blowing things out of proportion, I love the parallels of Reigen’s short lived fame and Mogami’s, and. yeah i love this episode so much

uuhm what about. headcanons you like vs headcanons you dont like?

I assume this means popular ones or ones i’ve seen often so sure!!

Like- Reigen is allergic to citrus, aroace tsubomi (also aroace mob which i haven’t seen before but i relate to his experience SO MUCH from an aro standpoint), autistic mob (that’s practically my reading of the show), autistic tome, shou has freckles and a tooth gap, trans reigen, mobs special interest is fitness, ritsu has OCD, 7th division shows up to large spirits and such group events, trans teru, and that’s all i can think of there

Dislike- reigen can’t cook, less of a hc and more of an interpretation but toichirou having like no emotions or being purely evil (that’s just a poor reading of his character), same with mogami, teruki and ritsu actually hate each other, roshuuto and reigen become friendly rivals (sorry), mob is tall and Skinny when he’s older, dimple keeps the security guard around, apart from bad readings of character that’s about it i think
