What I love about TTPD is that it really channels the feral and uncontrollable headspace of a teenage girl. The album is soaked in teenage petulance while telling the story of a woman in her 30s going dealing with heartbreak as an adult woman. Only Taylor could write an album filled with loss and sorrow while channeling the energy of the 18 year old that called out an Ex-boyfriend on live TV for breaking her heart over the phone.

I fucking love teenage girl behaviour. It’s erratic and passionate and obsessive and a little bat shit crazy. There’s an unrelenting self determination and confidence to feeling things that intensely and it’s juxtaposed by the moments that catch you off guard and make you step back because holy shit maybe I am in over my head but at the end of the day nobody can experience love or heartbreak like a sixteen year old girl alone in her bedroom and there is something deeply beautiful about that.
