The Regulation applies to all food business operators who supply their products to consumers and / or to large caterers (such as restaurants, hotels, canteens of schools, hospitals, etc.).

Many regulations from the royal decrees have been incorporated in the regulation. Nevertheless, important changes have been made to offer the consumer clear, complete and readable information so that he can make more informed choices.

Pre-packaged foods

The packaging or label of foodstuffs must contain a number of mandatory indications that can help the consumer to choose products in a well thought-out way (see specific section on this subject).

This information is given in the language or languages ​​of the territory where the product is sold (Law of 24 January 1977) and must appear on the packaging itself or on a label that sticks to it.

The mandatory entries must be clearly visible and legible.
