Starting a business.
Over the past couple of years, I have started and burned a few businesses and business ideas from the ground up. Trial and error has been my method, and so far, I am yet to see a nourishment of success. However, I have come to terms that it is just how the cookie crumbles; not everyone is successful and profiting from the jump.
I think that the grit you go through and the lessons you learn are the true labors of business. When you see success at all, that is pretty much the end goal until you scale up. I think it is important as humans that we set realistic AND unrealistic goals. The way we get through life is pushing ourselves to be the best we can, and that is crucial in life.
We are always searching for bigger and better things in life, not just with business and numbers!

AI.
AI or artificial intelligence is a touchy subject for me. With the newfound love I have for implementing 3D elements into my workflow, I find it more and more important to get proper reference images for my work because there is so much of the Google Workspace that is flooded with AI imagery. I find it important to get things right the first time, and although I find myself using AI as a tool to get through some ideation and how-to phases, I think it should really stop there.
People have been creating lifelike and even referenced style imagery recently with AI, and I remember when people claimed that it would take a long time to get to this point. I am NOT a fan whatsoever. I think that doing things in a traditional sense is the only probable way to go, even if it is inefficient. It is important to hold hand-made and sustainable contacts at a higher value than that of AI.
However, I find that the current climate of AI is detrimental to what society sees as worth anything, and it is certainly offputting.
There is a way around this, and it is to just go head first into including it into a good workflow and not solely relying on the computer to do the work. Although, it is important to know what to tell the computer because that is the only way for us to truly push forward and be successful.

What has the job search been like?
I have found searching for a job within my specific niche a struggle.
I constantly find myself on LinkedIn or, Indeed, applying for jobs while reaching out to recruiters to see how I could better my chances for opportunities online. It feels like a never-ending cycle. Feeling thrown to the sharks or whatever term you deem fitting, I think the current state of the market is in shambles.
With the integration and takeover of AI, the focus has been on efficiency and job cuts instead of maximizing space for the upcoming generational talent. There are all of these positions locked in by current industry talent, while people with new and innovative ideas are somewhat locked out of that chance.
I am one of those people.
I have recently learned about the innovation that came along with the early settling of the colonies and how quickly the US has become an invention powerhouse over the past 300 years. There are so many things we have created in this country that I feel I am missing out on being a part of. My grievances also lie in the amount I would be paid for all of my roles I would be taking over.
A lot of companies are letting go of their marketing and advertising teams to ultimately cut costs and replace them with lower-level talent at a reduced price tag. We cannot let this go on for much longer, or there will be some sort of kickback, and it won't be positive.

Peer Review
Here are the studio responses for the show that I created. I just want to know if these are really professional or not? Also, is there anything within the text itself I could improve on. I think I have a solid foundation for the posts in general, but I don't know if I should sound more corporate for an Instagram account or if this is simply enough for the project. Let me know your thoughts.

Long YouTube Videos...
Analyzing and breaking down why any 10+ minute YouTube video is valuable to any niche. Viewership and watch time is directly related to engagement and how enthusiastic a creator can be to keep a viewer enthralled with their content. Bright attitudes and witty humor are both things that come to mind when watching a successful YouTube long-format video. Viewers watch solely for entertainment or to learn a new skill, going a little more in-depth in a long format video is crucial to the success of something like that.

Favorite TV Show
I have a few favorite TV shows, and I can really understand how fans feel when a studio or network cancels or changes a show drastically. For example, in the TV series American Horror Story, fans are outraged every time there is a change in the cast. The show is very well known for the horror themes being acted out by the same cast but playing different roles each time. When there was a drop in familiar faces, the amount of viewership plummeted and fans were outraged by the creative decisions.

Writing on Tumblr.
When writing on Tumblr you need to just get your ideas and emotions out there at the beginning of a post. Don't try and sugarcoat things, it is crucial to get your idea out as quick and as clear as possible on Tumblr. People are here for fast information, much like Instagram or X. Adding an image or a GIF helps to get recognition on the platform as well, people want to see ideas visualized even faster.

What to "post"?
When creating the content for each post I'm choosing to "post" on Instagram, should I focus on creating really detailed pictures or will each post be dictated more by what the studio is trying to accomplish. I'm trying to figure out how in-depth each post is so that I get each message across. I don't want to make the "fans" seem out of place when creating a post, but I don't think a lot of people would post on their actual page when making a complaint, maybe that is something that would look more like a story post. @npfannen

What helps me...
When I'm drafting an essay or some sort of academic paper I always have something on in the background, and it is usually a game theory or video regarding video games. I think that they are so relaxing and sometimes what they talk about can inspire me to continue.

I think including more supporting visuals and references to the process could help improve the overall look. I think that what you have is solid so far, but I would just keep expanding and including everything that you can so far. Maybe you could show some sort of charts exploring the demographics/discourse community.
Peer request
I have been working on creating a method slide for my data collection part of the project. I spent about 3 days collecting data last week.
I am looking for tips on how I should to continue to go about the slides I made on method. In this 1st slide I included how I collected data on my 1st day and I am trying to include step by step what I did. I also have a slide below this slide with the method I used the 2nd day.
I know that I need more pictures and that I am working on but will most likely do at the end once I include my bullet points and paragraphs.
What ideas or suggestions do you all have for this part and the overall assignment? I am curious on how everyone is doing an looking for tips.

I think that showing everything on one slide and then referencing it when necessary would be a good way to approach it. If you were just to show it briefly on one slide and try to refer to it without a visual it might not be as effective. Now whether you do this with different types of graphs/charts on each page is up to you or is generally personal preference.
Peer Request-On Content Analysis...
Within my Content Analysis, the first graph I added was to reflect the # of views out of the videos reviewed within each page that have the most views with the narration being multimodal, and the orange reflecting that color.
I wasn't quite sure if within the content analysis how many types of graphs I should have that's focus on the specific content to my research question; with the one above, that's regarding the views, but I was also going to include a slide similar to above to show the # of likes on the same subject matter that matches my research question of if house tours are better watched when the narration is multimodal. Would it be ok to only link to all of my data from Google Sheets or add it all to one slide briefly? With the data that's relevant to my research question, I was going to create 3 graphs from what stemmed from the analysis.
Thank you!

I think the large paragraphs under the numbered headings are a little long and could be shortened if you are looking to really get the information across quick. The bottom is a little crammed as well, maybe play with the sizing of the pictures in the bottom right. Otherwise, I think that this was a strong start.
Peer Request #2
This is my draft for my How to Write Guide. Yes, I am aware that I have quite a bit of typos in this so please excuse that lol. There is also some placeholders for my three other instagram posts. I wanted to get feedback on if I should change my layout. I like to make everything visually appealing so I thought that the different balance worked well with it. I decided to go with an infographic for this project because I thought it was a decent way to get my information across in a timely fashion.

Review Week
Here is a snippet slide of my content analysis. I think what I have written here is pretty general and works for what I have. I am really just wondering what could I add or take away, in general, to make it seem more focused on academics than designers and content creators?
Here is a section of my how-to guide. I thin trying to persuade someone with just my words has been a little difficult do you think that including some sort of statistic in my conclusion section would help convey why any specific content creator should listen to my advice or not?

H2WG Audience Influence?
In terms of audience, I think that continuing to have the content creators post similar content just tweaked for increased engagement will have the audience be more susceptible to the content and find it more familiar. Everyone wants to be innovative and come up with new really interesting ideas, but sometimes over reinventing something can be an issue. As a viewer to some of this content myself change in general can be a little frustrating, especially if I know what type of content the creator usually makes.

H2WG Easiest Part?
I think that the easiest part of the content creation stage will really be just creating the actual preview content to show to the creators. I think that as a graphic designer myself I am really good at being able to replicate and merge my own ideas into existing content. Solving problems is something else I am pretty good at so I don't think I'll have issues making something cohesive and ultimately work for the project itself. I'll use the concepts and patterns I find to create and pitch something that should fit everyone's needs.

What matters?
So within the space of Instagram I think that creating content that looks professional and presents a solid idea stands out more than just a half-baked one. In a sense, if content is strong and complete it tells it's own story. This can be shown from the amount of engagement whether that is through the number of likes, comments, or even what people are saying in the comments. If there are likes on a post at all, it at least caught someone's attention. Everyone has their own pattern of posting whether it is a specific type of content or even just a witty caption.

What is each part?
I'm just a little confused about what is due for each day. IS the content analysis draft just supposed to be a rough outline of what we are finalizing for the content analysis project? Also, when creating the how to guide are we just showing off the ideas that the content creators could use to better their content while creating a "post" of our own? I think I'm just a little overwhelmed with having a couple classes right now I am missing the main points. @npfannen
