The acting for all the actors this episode were great. I liked the Sam Cage trauma plot and how he’s able to help someone else in the mental hospital. The Cas Dean reunion is everything that I remember it as but I kinda forgot that Dean is so quick to defend Cas’ actions…like that is his best friend and his soul and his heart man… “I forgive you, of course I forgive you” from The Trap parallel… 8.5/10

-this is the most homoerotic thing on this show

-it’s just too jarring when you don’t see how this guy’s brain has been broken at all? So it’s very sudden

-I just don’t like how this episode implies that it’s okay that Dean and Sam torture innocents who are possessed because they might turn out evil. In fact they need to kill people who are possessed to deter future crime

-I like the flames rising around Sam’s bed as imagery oooh

There is also just too much going on this episode and none of it is fleshed out. Honestly a very disappointing episode even before I found out Bedlund wrote this. It’s rare that we see things from the perspective of a former possessed human and I thought it would explore that further. The “Jeffrey was a psychopath” plot point is a complete cop out. On top of that, this cop/Iraq War mentality of “we need to strike at evil before someone does something bad” has aged very badly (go watch Skip Intro’s video about SPN and copaganda). Sterling and I spent over half an hour talking about the problems of this ep and brainstorming ways we could make it better. 4/10
