Hey folks! I know this is not the usual horror art content, but hear me out for a second!
Some friends and I have been helping Farah, a Palestinian girl who has been through some heartbreaking family tragedy, leave the country using a student visa. She now has a scholarship to continue her nursing studies in a French university, but we've reached a roadblock: the embassy is asking for 8400€ for her to be able to even leave the country.
So we are putting together a fundraiser to cover this and, if possible, some expenses so she can live in France and help her family! Please help us reach this goal if you have a little bit to spare!
Any little bit helps, and if you can't help right now, sharing this would be kindly appreciated! I know there are a lot of these fundraisers, and it's easy to become desensitized, but helping out here could really change a life! Thank you! <3

Happy Pollinator week to the Baltic Isopod, the first underwater pollinator discovered by science! Lab studies imply that their activities help pollinate seagrass and macroalgea. Is there anything isopods can't do?

The funniest thing about how maids are depicted in a certain kind of fiction is that, like, at least half the time the people who ostensibly own the place don't even really seem to want them to be there? It's often genuinely unclear who their actual employer is, or whether they're getting paid at all – it's like looking at a universe where if you build a fancy enough house, maids just show up, like rats.

Our president says car exhaust is safe to stop regulating, maybe he can demonstrate that for us and hot box it? :)

one of the things I like listening to while I work is creepypasta/horror story narrations and if you like that too then I'm gonna promo this youtube channel that just started out three months ago...I think they're neat and I like their selection of stories and their sound design is really good!! I want them to get popular

I know these people are incapable of feeling guilt or empathy most of the time, but I'm going to tell every one of them my mother died and it sucked. I don't care.
Maybe I'm trying to make sure a horrible, pointless, unnecessary death can have some meaning beyond my grief. That my mom's suffering can have some... reason.

Prairies are some of the most endangered ecosystems in the world, with the tallgrass prairie being the most endangered. Only 1-4% of tallgrass prairie still exists. Prairies are critically important, not only for the unique biodiversity they possess, but for their effect on climate. The ability to store carbon is a valuable ecological service in today’s changing climate. Carbon, which is emitted both naturally and by human activities such as burning coal to create electricity, is a greenhouse gas that is increasing in the Earth’s atmosphere. Reports from the International Panel on Climate Change, a group of more than 2,000 climate scientists from around the world, agree that increased greenhouse gases are causing climate change, which is leading to sea level rise, higher temperatures, and altered rain patterns. Most of the prairie’s carbon sequestration happens below ground, where prairie roots can dig into the soil to depths up to 15 feet and more. Prairies can store much more carbon below ground than a forest can store above ground. In fact, the prairie was once the largest carbon sink in the world-much bigger than the Amazon rainforest-and its destruction has had devastating effects.
