No distinct unifying theme exists here. Just the fleeting fancies of an anonymous tumblrererer. Also, I tend to overuse the ellipsis. (Nothing I post is my own work unless noted)

NERDY WOODEN PEG DOLLS
Artist Kathy Bocchino has an Etsy Store called knottingwood and in her store she makes and sells some amazing wooden Kokeshi dolls based on everything from video games to pop culture properties like Harry Potter, TMNT and Star Wars.
I love the simple design because the painted details really draw me in. It’s a stark difference to something like Tony & Emmanuelle’s Wooden Gaming Heads.

Famous Musician Portraits from Their Own CDs
It’s very popular to create musicians portraits from vinyl records or recycled cassette tapes. This time the following portraits were created from cds. For the inauguration of First Floor Under, a pop-vanguard culture magazine, artists Moreno De Turco and Mirco Pagano spent more than 200 hours lining up the CDs to recreate the portraits of seven world-famous musicians: Bob Marley, Elvis Presley, Jim Morrison, Jimmy Hendrix, Michael Jackson, James Brown, and Freddie Mercury.
