Favourite jealous Sagebean headcanons? (Every time you write Sage jealous I laugh my ass off it's too good)

Sage:

Is the more stereotypically "jealous" of the two, mainly due to the fact that Viper is much less social, so Sage isn't used to her spending extended amounts of time with other women.

Sage doesn't actually feel threatened by Chamber at all, but his non-stop flirting with Viper does irritate her. Because of this, she gets a lot more touchy with Viper whenever he's around. 💀

It's not that she doesn't trust Viper. It's more so that she's aware Viper is one hell of a catch, and because of her less-than-great opinion of herself, part of her is always a bit anxious that Viper will genuinely lose interest in her and find someone better.

Not at all above marking her territory. (She's a big fan of leaving hickeys on Viper LMAO)

Overall gets jealous over smaller things, but is also pacified relatively easily.

Usually doesn't actually SAY she's jealous, but she tends to wear her heart on her sleeve, so Viper (and anyone else who knows Sage well) can almost always tell. She also tends to sulk until she's reassured.

Finds it Extremely Attractive whenever Viper gets jealous.

Viper:

Unlike Sage, she doesn't get jealous very often, mostly because she knows Sage is stubbornly loyal as hell and therefore would never easily fall out of love with her or be unfaithful.

When she DOES get jealous, it's more protective/possessive; less focused on Sage herself and more focused on whoever the perceived Problem is. She gets set off by people catcalling Sage, getting into her personal space/getting too handsy, etc. If Sage outright flirted with someone else she'd also get jealous immediately, but that never happens.

Rather than mark Sage's body, Viper prefers to stake a claim on her in subtler ways—lending Sage her clothes, giving her gifts, that sort of thing.

Whereas Sage both easily gets jealous and is easy to pacify, Viper is the exact opposite. When she gets jealous, she will fume for literal days unless Sage directly addresses it, and depending on why she's jealous, she still won't be satisfied until Sage physically assures her that she's still hers. (Yes it's exactly what you're thinking)

Also doesn't say she's jealous, but she WILL purposefully show it, either by forcefully removing the Problem or by acting more possessive of Sage for a while.

Mostly finds it amusing whenever Sage gets jealous.

It's based on a WONDERFUL series of books by Scott Westerfeld, and is fit to burst with alternate history, steampunk aesthetics, queer romance, mech suits, bio-engineered creatures, including a flying whale, plus it has music by Joe Hisaishi. It was created in direct collaboration with the original author AND illustrator, Keith Thompson.

About the journaling in different languages headcanon: Sage is just cleaning the room one day and stumbles upon Vipers journals... She's just like "wtf... Sabine why are you writing in code?!"

LMAOOO I can imagine how confused she’d be 😭 Even when Viper admits that it’s Latin/Ancient Greek, Sage is just sitting there like “…why???”

Viper would probably be embarrassed about it as well, so she very nonchalantly mentions how she initially thought it’d be useful for medical terminology and has journaled since just so she doesn’t forget the languages, and leaves it at that. Sage is still a bit lost on Viper’s dedication to this particular habit, but she can also tell Viper’s cagey about it, so she doesn’t push for reasons and instead asks if Viper can speak the languages at all, how fluent she is, etc etc.

To me this feels like a hobby/habit that she would randomly abandon while in the VP after convincing herself it's silly and a waste of time, but inevitably come back to because journaling in those languages brings her a sense of comfort and control. Whenever she abandons it for too long and realizes she's started to forget words, it makes her panic. (The idea of cutting away yet another piece of herself sickens her)
