Gatsby knew Daisy for such a short amount of time yet he spent the rest of his life obsessing over her

Nick knew Gatsby for such a short amount of time yet he keeps obsessing over that time together so much so that he wrote a book about it

really the biggest difference is that Gatsby could live in the delusion that he could recapture his past with Daisy, he had hope that he could win her back. but Nick doesn't have that option. Gatsby's dead. There's nothing Nick can do or say to change that. all he can do is remember
