Altenator is able to charge LiFePO4 battery. My solution is a "large" sine wave inverter with at least 3. I understand that direct charging from from the RV alternator is not recommended (the usual way, split charger means) for LiFePO4 batteries. 200aH battery pack at 12v that comes with a 20amp charger/equaliser. I'm currently speccing my revamped RV (Motorhome). Charger rating 14.4 volts, 18.0 amps Temperature ratingLiFePO4 mobile charging. 48v chargers for lead acid batteries may work, but will decrease performance and lifespan of the battery. Uses Your Alternator to Charge Deep Cycle Batteries We highly recommend you use a LiFePO4 compatible charger. That means that the BIM will connect for 15 minutes, disconnect for 20 minutes, and repeat this cycle until the coach battery. Under normal charging conditions, the Li-BIM225 will connect for 15 minutes every 35 minutes. Buy in monthly payments with Affirm on orders over $50. Battle Born LiFePO4 Battery Isolation Manager Li-BIM225. OK, that corresponds to what your battery says and the measurements you've taken. After a lot of testing and tweaking, I'm finally happy with how my Lithium iron phosphate or LiFePO4 batteries are charging using my narrowboats alternator. Once charges, they'll settle to about 3.33V or thereabouts. The absolute max for LiFePO4 cells is 4.2V, although the recommended charge voltage is between 3.4 and 3.8. Your charger probably puts out 14.4V with a current limit of some sensible value. While high temperatures are bad, these batteries really, really do not like to sit at 0% SOC and very high temperatures! Also bad, though not quite as bad as 0% SOC, is for them to sit at 100% SOC and high temperatures. There is more to calendar life and how quickly a LiFePO4 battery will age: State-Of-Charge has something to do with it as well.Sometimes I have 230VAC access and would like to charge at 40-50A for 2 hours. I drive for 30 minutes a day, typically, and the alternator can provide 70-100A 13.5-13.8V depending on engine rpm. Sterling Power makes battery to battery chargers which charge off the starter battery.12V 50A LiFePO4 charger? Hello, I'm considering replacing my 300Ah lead acid battery bank with a 160Ah LiFePO4 battery. The WS500 and WS100 are made by Wakespeed. These lithium chargers from the alternator provide the opportunity to charge batteries straight from your car's alternator. Alternator Open Circuit Protection Device. At first, we attempted to charge our LiFePO 4 cell at the full 1 C (2.3 A) and set the discharging value at 4 C (9.2A). At every charge/discharge cycle, we recorded a dip in capacity around 1 mAh (0.005%) of the minimum capacity.
Our small experiment revealed the properties of the battery changed.

Hi, I am designing my setup but the only thing that is not clear to me is how to safely have my batteries charge through my alternator. In this setup with the AGM battery, we are. The assumptions are that the 140 amp alternator is set to deliver 90 amps and that the battery can absorb current at a rate of 0.6c as a bulk charge. If the BMS disconnects the battery, the alternator may be damaged. However, a low-quality alternator with poor voltage regulation can cause the BMS to disconnect the LiFePO4 battery. Charging the LIFEPO4 with an alternator and DC to DC charger Depending on the quality of the alternator, the LiFePO4 battery can be charged without modification.

This is like all other remote desktop applications where you have to pair two computers using a PIN and then initiate the sharing. And I’ve used it often to provide remote support.Google, following the footsteps of other tech giants, have released a utility named “ Chrome Remote Desktop”. I’ve had clients use it for remote access to desktop apps, as well as remote access to Windows servers. Your experience?Ĭhrome Remote Desktop can be a great way for people to securely access a desktop system.

If you are the person who intends to provide remote support, you’ll enter the 12-digit code in the “Give Support” section (on the lower portion of the /support page) then select “Connect.” You’ll need to use the full Chrome browser on a computer–not the mobile browser or mobile Chrome Remote Desktop apps–to provide remote support (as of August 2018). This creates a 12-digit code to share with the person you want to allow to access your system remotely. When you request support, you’ll then select the “Generate Code” button.
Chrome remote desktop chromebook install#
If you haven’t yet installed the Chrome Remote Desktop app, the steps in the setup process are similar to those above: Click the button to download the app, install it, allow it to run, accept the terms and install, then allow the download to open and to make changes. Remote Support: One-time sessionĪlternatively, you may configure Chrome Remote Desktop for single-use access, which works well for remote support. You can connect to a system configured for remote access from another desktop Chrome browser or from a Chrome Remote Desktop mobile app. The PIN needs to be at least 6 digits long.įinally, choose “Yes” to allow “Native messaging host for remoting host management.”Īfter you’ve completed the above steps, your system should appear with the name you assigned it, along with a status of “Online.” Even if your Google account user name and password somehow become known, an attacker also would need the PIN to connect. This adds an additional layer of security.

SEE: Remote access policy (Tech Pro Research) If you have multiple computers configured for remote access, meaningful names can help differentiate systems. You’ll also need select “Yes” to allow Chrome Remote Desktop to open chromeremotedesktop.msi.Īfter that, enter a name for your computer, then choose “Next.” This is the name that will appear when you open your Chrome Remote Desktop app. For example, on a Windows system, select “Yes,” then wait a few more moments before clicking on the “Accept & Install” message that appears. Then you’ll need to allow the app to install. Next, click the blue button to download the Chrome Remote Desktop app. Then select either “Remote access” or “Remote support” to set up an always-available connection or a one-time connection, respectively. A system running any of those operating systems can serve as a host, from which you can share the screen. And you can install the Chrome Remote Desktop host software on most systems that run Windows 7 (or more recent), macOS 10.9 (or more current), or modern Linux distributions.

You can control a remote system either with an app (on Android or iOS), or from the Chrome browser (on Chrome OS, Windows, macOS, or Linux). This option gives you a great way to handle remote support or troubleshooting.Ĭonnections work across platforms. The second setup supports temporary remote access to a system with a one-time code. This configuration works well for systems you control that are often (or always) powered on, such as as a desktop (or server). The first configuration lets you connect to a system any time. Startx vs xinit
Tumblr media
In the same way, we can also start the Desktop Environment through the following command: xinit gdm xinit/etc/X11/Xsession = For some concepts of X Winow System, you should look for related documents. When xterm is closed, X will exit, because other X clients (xeyes, metacity) are running in the background, and xterm is the first X client running in the foreground. When $HOME/.xinitrc exists and contains the following content: xeyes& metacity& xterm When xinit is executed, one xterm and one xeyes will appear. Closing xterm will exit X, because xterm is the first X client to run. The following is a specific example to illustrate: When there is no $HOME/.xinitrc, execute xinit metacity, there will be a movable xterm (no $HOME/.xinitrc, xinit starts xterm by default), of course there is also an X server. xinitrc file under $HOME, and then add the following content: gnome-session& Metacity/*Except for the last command running in the foreground, everything else should be running in the background*/After saving, you can start GNOME by executing xinit in the terminal, isn’t it cool? When using xinit to start X, it should be noted that if the first running X client ends, xinit will automatically end X and return to the CLI. Let's start GNOME as an example: First create a. After clarifying the above content, we can modify $HOME/.xinitrc and start Desktop Environment through xinit. If we want to enter GNOME, we only need to change the target file linked by/usr/bin/x-session-manager to/usr/bin/gnome-session, and then change the link from/usr/bin/x-window-manager Change the target file to/usr/bin/metacity, and change the target file linked by/usr/bin/x-terminal-emulator to/usr/bin/gnome-terminal. The following content in the Xsession file:/usr/bin/x-session-manager/*Start Desktop Environment*//usr/bin/x-window-manager/*Start Window Manager*//usr/bin/x-terminal-emulator/*Start Terminal*/This is why we can directly enter X with a startx command. That is equivalent to running the following command: xinit/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc -/etc/X11/xinit/xserverrc Further analysis: xinit/etc/X11/Xsession -/usr/bin/X11/X -dpi 100 Xsessin is an important file, why should I say it? Because it will be executed regardless of whether you log in to X through the Display Manager or log in to X through xinit (startx). It can be seen that the location of startx to set the X client is to search for $HOME/.xinitrc first, and then/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc the location to set the X server is to search for $HOME/. By analyzing the content of the startx command file, it is known that startx mainly sets the location of the X client and X server, and processes the relevant parameters, and finally hands it to xinit for processing. So how can I enter Desktop Environment? Let us analyze the operation of the startx command. If $HOME/.xinitrc does not exist, it is equivalent to execute: xinit xterm -/usr/bin/X will not enter the Desktop Environment (desktop environment, such as GNOME, KDE, etc.) if $HOME/.xinitrc does not exist or if $HOME/.xinitrc is not set correctly, there is only one xterm and "X" in front of us Shaped mouse. If $HOME/.xinitrc exists, it is equivalent to execute: xinit $HOME/.xinitrc -/usr/bin/X 2. According to the existence of $HOME/.xinitrc, xinit will run differently. Client program, see later for specific settings. xinitrc file in the directory to be executed as an X client, that is, you can set X to run when you enter X. By default, when we execute the xinit command without any parameters under the CLI, xinit will search for the. They represent the specific path of the program, which must start with/or. The above and are called X client program and X server program respectively. let’s take a look at the usage of xinit command: xinit options] options] It can be seen that xinit initializes X through two levels The X client program and the X server program. The following mainly analyzes the process of xinit to initialize X: 1. The startx command we often use to log in to X also starts X by passing parameters to xinit, that is, xinit is the final start of X. There are two main ways to start X: One is Display Manager, such as XDM, GDM, KDM, this method is to log in through a graphical interface the other is via xinit, which is suitable for character interface login. Xinit starts the X Window System process.

To print, open CalTopo again, and import your new GPX file, which should have only the route you selected. This will download a single GPX file containing all of the tracks and/or waypoints you want. A route does not take topography or obstacles into account. On a GPS, it is a direct line between two waypoints. It detects the possible driven route in dependency of the frequency of received GPS signals. Basically, a route is determined in advance. Map matching dose not find the best routing solution.

Select just the files you want, then click the “Export” button in the bottom right corner. In How To Use A GPS: Waypoints And Go Tos, we went over traveling from a current position a previously marked waypoint - a Go To. Then, scroll down and check the box(es) for the route or routes that you want to download. To download just the files you want, first click the “Check/Uncheck All” box in the top right corner to deselect everything. I have a client who would like to track the GPS lat long off their ISR1100 cellular router and Ive added a GPS antenna and configured the cellular modem to provide GPS information from the CLI but I can not find the correct OID and have run snmpwalk against the router but there does not appear to be a GPS OID either. Click the GPS filetype you want to download (TCX Course, GPX Track or GPX Route) under Available Downloads. In CalTopo, Click Export > Download GPX File Tracks are data points collected from actual events, like all the logging you did with your gps. Points will not have detail from your original track recording if you convert.

Hood track you need and not every Hood route) do this: Routes are a plan along a series of waypoints, which you'll use to navigate. If you just want to download an individual track or two for your upcoming trip (or print a map with just the Mt. To download ALL of these routes to your own hard drive, from CalTopo click “Export > Download GPX File”. (The one GPX file with all of the routes is only about 3 MB, so don't worry, it won't blow up your phone storage.) However, keep in mind, you're going to dump 70 or so files into your track folder, and another 40 or so waypoints, so this may or may not mess up your tidy GPS track housekeeping. This data can then be downloaded onto a Garmin Edge device. You can also download all of these files onto your computer, so you can transfer them into a smart phone app like a GPS or to a handheld GPS receiver. Strava provides the option to download or export the route data of another Strava athletes activity.

What they never tell you is for troubleshooting fiber for these performance destroying situations is the tens of thousands of dollars fiber troubleshooting equipment costs.

Fiber has been a traditional go to solution for long distances, however fiber, especially glass fiber is highly susceptible to breakage, crack and damage in extreme cold or movements. LAN Networking is commonly referred to as a physical wired local area network and is a either a buss or star topology configured Ethernet Network for data-transmissions between devices.Įvery single computing platform regardless of OS, uses Ethernet protocols to communicate between the physical CPU to it’s own Network interface regardless if it is your laptop, desktop, tablet, cellphone, WiFi Access point, fiber transceiver, etc.Įnable-IT branded Industrial Ethernet Repeater solution drastically reduce those costs, points of failure and installation/support costs. This requires electrical power every 100 meters as well for installers. 100MBs Ethernet has a nasty and unfortunate distance limit of only 328 feet or 100 meters on any kind of copper wiring.Īll 100MBs or above Ethernet device manufactures since then have limited your installable distance limit to 100 meters unless you add another powered Ethernet device to bridge and boost the Ethernet signal to another 100 meters. In the late 1980’s Category rated Twisted pair wiring for Ethernet became the preferred cable standard as did 100MBs Ethernet. Just pure LAN to LAN at the Ethernet Distance Limit of 900 feet. Today you can deploy 10MB Ethernet on standard telephone wiring in 2-pair strands or in bulk bundled pairs from your source LAN up to 900 feet / 275 meters without any break, interruption or devices in between. Original Ethernet LAN communications was a mere 10MBs and that 900 ft distance is true for all 10MB Ethernet hub and switches. Original Ethernet LAN communications was designed and deployed on a copper coax buss topology that could travel up to 900 feet or 275 meters. This was the standard distance for Ethernet. Sometimes an Enable-IT Ethernet Repeater can be mis-labeled and referred to as an Ethernet Extender, CAT5 Extender, CAT 6 Extender, Ethernet Bridge, Network Bridge, LAN Extender – all of which are terms for the results, but not an accurate description of the Enable-IT Industrial Ethernet Repeater technology designed to extend effective Ethernet Distance. An Industrial Ethernet Repeater eliminates that need and additional costs for you to extend your Ethernet Distance. This requires electrical power every 100m as well for installers. In the late 1980’s Twisted pair wiring for Ethernet became the preferred cable standard, however Ethernet over Twisted pair has a unfortunate distance limit of only 328 feet or 100 meters.Īll Ethernet device manufactures since then have limited your installable Ethernet Distance limit to 100m unless you add another powered Ethernet device to bridge and boost the Ethernet signal to another 100m. An Ethernet Repeater is a computer network communication module that can leverages Ethernet Distance and WAN technologies in concert to transparently drive Ethernet LAN communications beyond the IEEE 802.3 specifications for today’s twisted pair wiring distance limitation of 328 feet or 100 meters.

Portuguese fire man

The amount of French forest burned in fires this year is already triple that destroyed in 2020, Macron said. “We are living through an exceptionally harsh (summer) season,” French President Emmanuel Macron said Friday during a visit to the government crisis management center at the Interior Ministry in Paris. As the fires stretched into a fourth day Friday, one was partially contained, it said, but warned that hotter temperatures and winds over the weekend could further complicate firefighting efforts. More than 7,000 hectares of land have been consumed by the fires, according to the regional emergency service. The other is in parkland not far from valleys dotted with vineyards that have struggled with hotter, drier weather than usual this year that authorities have linked to climate change. One of the French fires is in woodlands just south of the Atlantic resort town of Arcachon, a major attraction for visitors during the summer season. In France, 1,000 firefighters and 10 water-dumping planes contended with high temperatures and strong winds to try to contain two wildfires in the Bordeaux region of southwestern France that have forced the evacuation of 11,300 people and ravaged pine forests near the Atlantic coast. Meanwhile, Portuguese authorities said a July national high of 47 degrees Celsius (117 Fahrenheit) was registered in the northern town of Pinhao on Wednesday, the hottest day of the year so far. More than 30,000 hectares (74,000 acres) of land has been burned, it said, most in the past week. Portuguese state television RTP reported Friday that the area burned this year has already exceeded the total for 2021. More than 160 people have been injured and hundreds of people evacuated from towns this week. The pilot was the first fatal victim in fires in Portugal so far this year. The country’s Civil Protection Agency said 10 fires were still raging Friday, with ones in the north causing the most concern. More than 3,000 firefighters battled alongside ordinary Portuguese citizens desperate to save their homes from several wildfires that raged across the country, fanned by extreme temperatures and drought conditions. Portugal has been particularly hard hit by wildfires this week. The pilot died while on an operation near the town of Torre de Moncorvo. In a message on his official Twitter account, Portuguese Prime Minister António Costa said, “It was with great dismay that I became aware of the death of the pilot who operated an aircraft that fell this afternoon.” He sent his condolences to the pilot´s family and friends and also expresssed his solidarity and gratefulness to all taking part in the fight against the fires. The death came as fires continued to rage across Portugal, neighboring Spain and in France. PARIS - The pilot of a Portuguese firefighting plane died when his plane crashed while on a firefighting operation in the northeast of the country Friday.
