“Ivan?” Marina’s voice was soft, almost hesitant, as she stood at the threshold of his room. Her arms curled protectively around the family cat, its tail flicking lazily against her wrist. She gave it one last stroke before gently lowering it to the floor, where it padded away without a sound.

She stepped inside, just a few feet, fingers nervously tugging at the hem of her dress — a habit she hadn’t outgrown. Her eyes flicked around the room before finally settling on Ivan, her brows slightly furrowed.

“Val’s been acting... strange,” she said, the words hanging in the air like a confession. “More than usual. I’ve seen her leave the house late at night, sometimes even during the early morning, is everything alright?"

Marina went to sit on the bed, the moment she did she was followed with a tickle attack causing her to stop and laugh, pushing his hands away as she smiled. Sitting up and adjusting her dress, dusting it off she crossed her legs, placing her hands in her lap. "Tell me if something weird happens that you find out? I don't want to be kept out of anything." She just spoke in a small tone.
