Thank you to everyone who applied! I really appreciate each and every applicant, it’s going to be difficult to narrow down who I invite to join me as a fellow ‘Watcher.’

I will be sending out discord invites to accepted applicants within 72 hours from now! Please be on the lookout in your discord friend requests or tumblr DMs for a server invite link from either me (EllithP on discord) or from the Creative Life blog (on tumblr), depending on which you put as your preferred way to be contacted. Also make sure you are able to receive such messages! So on discord, ensure you are able to receive friend requests/messages from everyone and on tumblr, make sure your DMs are open.

I will not be sending out rejection messages. So if you do not receive any of the above after 72 hours from now (June 17 @ 5am UTC), do double check the places you’d receive a friend request/message on discord/tumblr. If you do not receive anything, you unfortunately didn’t make the cut but you’re free to apply as a player or watcher helper (same description as was in the mod form) when they come out.

is there anything that id need to be able to do or have so i could be a mod? like timezone requirements or whatever

The main requirements is having a discord and filling out a mod application! While I do look at your time zone and general availability, they don’t factor greatly on whether you get in or not as a mod unless you’re just never available.

The main thing I look at when judging the applications is the “What is your modding experience or general experiences and skills that would make you a good mod?” question. Like I’ve said, you don’t have to have past modding experience but please do detail what experience you do have. Stuff like volunteering, running a club, being a teacher, doing graphic design in your free time, etc. are just some examples of other experiences/skills that are not modding that could help your application significantly! It’s also good to specify responsibilities and/or what role you played with these experiences instead of being general about it. Write as much as you want and I’ll read it all.

It helps greatly if you talk about experience relevant to the type of mod you’d like to be as well. Ie. You want to be a Blog/Social mod: add what experience you have in managing a blog/social media! What ideas do you have brewing? Are you good with collaborating with people? Why should I trust you to manage the blog/socials on my behalf?

Hehe, you read my mind! I did plan for the mods to have their role be titled “Watchers” >:)

I guess I just never outwardly said it! There will be few other fun themed roles on the Discord like “Players”, “Listeners” (People joining to just see the chaos), “Spectators” (Players that run out of lives), etc.!

So yes! The mods can indeed be called the watchers instead 🫶 (no ties to the actual watchers in lore, just a fun silly themed name for the event unless the watchers wanna do something with lore/roleplay 🤷)

what would be an example of an accidental death??

Accidental deaths are any kind of death that may occur to a player not by the hands of another player (keeping to a Minecraft theme). Examples of an accidental death could be falling off a cliff, being exploded by a creeper, getting trampled by a pack of ravagers, drowning while trying to capture a pet axolotl, etc.

They can range from a standard death to a hyper specific scenario depending on how we’re feeling and what ideas we come up with for them! We’ll try to keep it fun and entertaining but no promises. Plus, you get a small fan work out of it so hopefully it doesn’t feel as bad :D

If only reds are allowed to be hostile and you take lives by a player writing to someone else, how do people lose lives in the early game without red names?

Also, is the roleplay something you can opt in/out of, so we know who is and isn't roleplaying?

There will be features of boogeyman and accidental deaths (like how players can accidentally fall off a cliff, die to a creeper, etc.) that people can lose lives to! Details on how they will work will be put into the rules but they will be present in Creative Life.

As for your 2nd question, I believe that roleplay should not be mandatory for this event. We’ll figure out exactly how best to implement that option into the discord so people can opt in/out of roleplay whenever they’d like.

is the event going to use discord TOS age aloud to use/make a discord account? Or is it going to be around a 16-18+ Sever? Or will be open to 13+ and older?

It’ll be open to people 13+, following Tumblr’s and Discord’s age of use policy! :)

I've never particapated in an event before and I've never moderated anything, but I want to apply to be a moderator. Is that okay? Can I?

Yes, of course you can! Past moderation experience is great but I’m also looking at people with relevant skills/experience that’d make them a good moderator. So even if you’ve never moderated before, you’re welcomed to apply!
