thinking about how there will probably be seasons of the pitt where characters aren't getting along with one another and where we don't see that relationships have changed offscreen, and the season is a shift long!! so we won't always get answers and we won't always see things wrapped up neatly

it takes time for things to be resolved and they have the opportunity to create the angstiest most unsatisfying plot lines if they so wish (which in turn creates the perfect space for fanworks to fill in the gaps)

cassie and victoria are just soooo dear to me, they perfectly encapsulate this sort of coworker first getting to know each other awkwardness. cassie tries real hard to get over it, but it can't just be overcome immediately and victoria is instantly put on guard by feeling like she needs to prove she belongs in this place on her own merits. but they work well together, they sort of cover each other's weaknesses (and atm victoria has more of those, obviously, bc she's a lot less experienced, but she caught something cassie didn't and then in turn cassie did the same and it's such a nice give and take) and at the end of that first day, when everything is just the WORST, it's cassie who victoria looks to when she tells her mom to back off and it's cassie who she keeps returning to and idk... they're just such an awesome little fledgling dynamic that could grow into something amazing, i believe in them.

Hey, don’t hate Gloria. You don’t have to like her, but understand she’s not “evil,” she’s not “cruel,” she’s trying to keep a hospital running in a time where no one gives a shit about healthcare unless they can use it as a scapegoat. I get kinda sad when I see her written in fics as a one dimensional villain who wants Robby and the rest of the staff to suffer. Is she tone deaf in her conversations with Robby? Sometimes, yeah. But that doesn’t make her evil. I don’t love Gloria, I don’t hate Gloria, but I understand she is someone has an essential job in the hospital and is trying to carry it out.

I see Langdon getting more forgiveness than her, I mean it’s obvious why (fandoms love hot white men) but it’s still a little ridiculous. I don’t hate Langdon either! I think he is an interesting character who I can’t wait to see more of! However!! Langdon stole expensive medicine from a struggling hospital. And Gloria is doing her job.

I love so many characters in The Pitt and I recognize that they are all flawed characters, so it sometimes feels unfair to pin one character down as an antagonist and another as simply misunderstood. All these characters hold complexities and I’d love to see that recognized more often.

One last note— this isn’t me picking a fight, if you what to portray Gloria as a villain in your work I literally cannot stop you, I don’t own the internet. I am just making this post to make people who see Gloria as a villain think about why they see her that way.
