I certainly understand the discussions and criticism around like, Edward being 104 to Bella's 17, or Consent to Vampire Creation and all that, and have participated in them myself from time to time.
But sometimes it's like, okay, this stuff is Standard for the Genre. It's doing what it says on the tin. Of course Edward's older than Bella, that's the point of a vampire romance. Of course people are turned into vampires against their will and/or to save their lives. Those are like the top two ways you make vampires.
I mean let's look at Bella, who gave the most enthusiastic, informed consent possible in regards to becoming a vampire. And yeah, it worked out great for her! But also . . . it was super boring. It was so easy for her that SM had to come up with a whole new plot about the Volturi and Immortal Children because there was no drama or conflict in Bella being the best best-adjusted vampire ever. There was no, "what have I become," no, "omg I can't believe I just drank blood," no "I'll never see Charlie or Jacob again." No conflict, no tension. Good for her, bad for drama.
If Carlisle propped up the dying Edward/Esme/Rosalie/Emmett and sat across from them at a desk with a lawyer and had them sign consent forms I guess it would be ethical but it wouldn't feel much like a vampire story. You need the "did I save you or did I damn you?" tension. You need the "I love/hate you, vampire dad." Imagine the Cullens all being like Bella, so easy, no consequences, fully informed and given a choice. It would be boring to read.
Sure Edward could have been a vampire who was just recently turned and so really was like 17 or 18 years old but again, it wouldn't really feel like a vampire story without the weight of all those decades of loneliness behind it. He'd have all the angst and ennui of Mike Newton.
The imprinting on children stuff though, yeah that's weird. Fated mates are pretty standard in wolf shifter stuff but in my experience usually not Like That.

'i ship them' but not in a 'omg theyre made for eachother' or 'they help eachother' or 'they're sexy' but a secret fourth options called 'they cannot exist without the other in their purests forms however the are NOT good for eachother but when seperated they become worse, theyre a tumor latched onto the other which has gone too long and infected them to a point where removing the tumor is worse than letting it sit, but letting it sit STILL means the body will die, no matter what its a lose lose so is it even worth it? .....of course theres religous undertones......well of COURSE they have nasty violent sex'

Sometimes I think about how Sebastian learned to cook by listening to Ciel’s feedback and tweaking things just so to fit his tastes.
So in reality, Sebastian’s cooking is probably weird as hell 😭. Since it was built around Ciel’s exact preferences.
Like everything he makes is either super sweet or garlicy or whatever the perferred flavors of a Victorian child are.

I know some people complain about the headcanon and constantly go “SEbAstIAN oNLY CarES aBoUT hIs SoUL” or “hE hAtES hiM HE’S nOt A DAd” but I really love fanfics or AU headcanons that include Dadbastian
Like from where I’ve watched up to (I haven’t read the manga yet) I know that he likely only cares about Ciel’s soul and that at the end of the day he doesn’t care or gave any human emotions at all about any of them due to being a demon. I know any care he has shown is definitely because Ciel’s soul is his dinner lmao
BUT it’s nice to imagine a headcanon where due to being in the human world and around so many strange humans, Sebastian actually starts to care. It would annoy him but eventually he’s like oh shit I have a kid now.
I love the complexity of a character being incredibly evil to the point that they could hurt anyone and not care eventually learn to care about someone and struggle with their conflicting instincts and characteristics. Fanfics that could include this idea are so interesting to me.
So yeah at the end of the show he’ll probably eat his soul and be like “see ya bitch 👋” but it’s always fun to imagine him feeling conflicted over it because even though Ciel’s life would only be a fleeting moment to an age old demon like Sebastian it’s always interesting to imagine it still effecting him long after Ciel’s and the other servants are gone.
I need fanfic recs of Sebastian and Ciel being like a father and son

IDWTWY HEADCANON
This is what I think will happen years after the story ends.
Do not read this if you haven’t read the entire story. Here’s a link.
Sorry if the ‘read more’ doesn’t work on your phone.

i feel like it's absolutely crucial in the social justice world to take "he a little confused but he got the spirit" and similar sentiments/situations as a Win. intent is so much more important than saying it right the first time! if someone is approaching with scuffed language and incorrect terms but they're visibly being as polite as they know how, that person is a friend and should be treated better than what their words might invite in someone else's mouth.

Yeah, dunking on Drake is fun, but I don't see a lot of people talking about the rest of the halftime show.
The dancers emerging to form a divided American flag. Uncle Sam telling Kendrick he's "too loud, too ghetto" and that America wants "nice and calm." Ending the performance telling everyone to "turn the TV off." And the fact that all of this is being very deliberately done at the Super Bowl, the most televised yearly event in the country???
This show was a beautiful celebration of Black American culture, a clapback against racist anti-rap rhetoric, and another chance to clown on a rapist, but it was also a condemnation of the bread and circuses of media that the Super Bowl represents. People want to stick their heads in the sand and ignore everything happening in this country, so Kendrick did something impossible to ignore.

imagine hating someone so much you write a diss track about them and then end up breaking a bunch of streaming records (that were previously held by the very same person you're hating on the diss track), going 1st on the billboard hot 100 chart and winning grammys for that song (record of the year no less!!!!), like, nobody is doing it like kendrick lmaooo y'all need to step up your hating game

Kendrick Lamar is now a 22-time Grammy award winner. Not Like Us broke the record for most wins by a rap song in Grammy history (5). It's also the first diss record to win a Grammy.
