This picture is of the feeding structures of the Naegleria fowleri, a brain eating amoeba. It has a creepy face-like appearance, which compliments the fact that it enters through your nose and consumes your brain tissue.
This causes headache, stiff neck, and vomiting, which progresses to more serious symptoms. Between exposure and onset, infection generally results in a coma and death after around five days.
