“It’s better than what he used to have to deal with, since you know the pack were cursed and all that. He only got to see me on full moons. So I imagine that’s also a reason behind the struggle.” And it was, adjusting to walking around on two legs wasn’t easy in the slightest and in some ways getting to be in wolf form again was something he’d welcome minus the lack of control over what he’d do for the hours he remained a wolf. “Yeah, exactly…” he chuckled before offering a warm smile. “You been at this whole deal long, Hayley?” he was always curious, he knew most people in the pack inside out so having someone as well as the mass of new wolves in the Bayou, he just wanted to know more about them. “Oli then..he can be a lot, grew up with him and the alpha Jackson but he’s a decent guy under it all.”
“ I can only imagine what it must’ve been like for him... it’s hard on a kid to be away from family... ” she mused, knowing full well what that was like. It had been little over a year ago that she had reunited with her own family, only to once again part ways with them under sudden circumstances. The werewolf tilted her head slightly to the side, as if contemplating the question that had been asked, before she spoke again, “ -- triggered my werewolf curse when I was about thirteen... didn’t really have anyone like me at the time to help me through my first full moon. ” She’d leave out the dismal details, not quite ready to divulge her back story to some stranger. She was certain he’d understand, anyway. “ An old friend, huh... Was he always such an asshole? ” she spoke without much of a filter, a single eye narrowed briefly as the smile still played on her lips. Could he blame her for the distaste towards Oli though? “ So, the alpha... where the hell is he? ” Apart of her was curious about the kind of leader the crescents had-- the title alpha weighs heavy on those who don it.

“I resent that statement. I would never get the tacky soccer mom hair cut.” Caroline told her with a jokingly offended gasp. Still she was obviously pleased by there werewolf’s bend to her wishes as she began to have her snack. Caroline over the last year had become a bit of an expert at talking Hayley into going with her sudden whims. Not that it was really the difficult typically, despite appearing as polar opposites the two were as close as could be. She was the tomboy Betty to Caroline’s high maintenance Veronica. “Sex and the City.” She dutifully added supplying the show’s missing name. At the push to return the blonde only rolled her eyes. Although it was dusk she estimated she still had some time before the wolves came out. “I have time, plus I want to be here for you. I know how much it sucks transforming. I mean I don’t know, obviously, but you shouldn’t have to just wait around alone until your bones start snapping. That’s lonely and awful.”
Caroline was one of the few people who Hayley had come to trust. Over the course of four months, the two had managed to get to know each other beyond the surface level. She understood that the vampire’s intentions were in good place, and she was grateful for it. However, she worried that as a result her friend would end up in a danger, or worse. The thought of something happening to her lingered in the back of her mind, the feeling of unease coursed through her being. “ You sure are stubborn, aren’t you? ” They were similar in that sense; whenever either of them came to a decision, they were adamant on seeing it through to the end. Even when they knew the risks of their decisions, that wouldn’t stop them. Hayley knew that Caroline wouldn’t be easy to persuade when she already had her mind set on staying with her. But even so, that didn’t stop her from trying to get her to go back to the safety of the city. “ You don’t have to worry about me being lonely... I’m used to doing this alone... I think maybe it’s better that way. ”

“Personally love, I could care less for what you believe…though I would try to act a little nicer.” He gave a small chuckle. “Oh beyond trying to help the wolves end up on top of the food chain, I assure you there’s no crazy motive to anything but feel free to complain..” Klaus gave a dramatic gesture, crossing his arms over his chest as if waiting for some violent outburst that typically came from most who had any relation to some murderous act he’d taken part in.
“ You can rot in hell for all I care. ” Bold on her part, she drew dangerously closer to the original, keeping a hostile gaze fixated on the other. She wanted nothing more than to lunge at him; to scream, even. Hell, she would’ve done it, but she refused to give into her rage just yet. “ I highly doubt you’re doing it out of the kindness of your heart... look, I don’t know why you want to help the werewolves, but they’d be idiots to trust you. ” Words seethed with a corrosive bitterness, the feeling of animosity threatening to boil over any moment.

He turned to the unfamiliar voice that only came to match a more unfamiliar face, so of course he assumed she was one of the outside wolves the ones the rest of the pack were far too nervous about though he was fine with it; they had nowhere else to go thanks to Marcel so how could he judge them in the ways the others did. “Yeah, kinda hard to explain to a five year old that ya don’t have an option in being gone…he’s also a little too young to explain the whole ‘the people around you turn into animals on a full moon’ so you know it’s complicated.” He loved his brother and in some ways all he wanted to do was protect him from their world. “Guessing you’re one of the outsiders. I’m Aiden, probably about the friendliest face you’ll see out of the pack here. It’s nice to meet you..-” he gestured to the sky. “All things considered.”
“ No, I get it... he’s just a kid. He shouldn’t have to know that you break your bones over and over again every full moon. ” Apart of her wished that had been the case for her. That she wouldn’t have had to been exposed to this side of her at such an early age-- she, too, was just a kid when she triggered her werewolf curse. She nods at his gesture towards the moon, bright and full against the night sky, “ -- right. Not the best circumstances to meet under... I’m Hayley, by the way. ” She recalled having encountered a crescent werewolf back in the city the day she had arrived. Her first impression of him wasn’t the most pleasant, admittedly. “ I met one of your guy’s actually... can confirm he was a total dick. ” rosy lips curve upwards slightly into a faint smirk, as the witty remark escapes her.

The last he had heard of Hayley had been from Caroline though he hadn’t personally had the opportunity in conversing or coming across her until now though of course if it was anything like that of her cousin’s conversation, he was sure it would be less than a pleasant conversation to have. “Well if you do recall I am part wolf love, yes I may be able to control my transformation but I certainly and as of late favor the wolves over the vampires. So I came to see how they do things here.” He shrugged, there was more too it but as always he felt no need to divulge that information.
“ You expect me to believe that that’s why you’re here? Out of curiosity? ” It was almost laughable to the werewolf, “ There’s always some screwed up motive behind whatever you do. ” An anger she wasn’t aware still lingered within her had begun to resurface under the moon’s influence, only fueling her hatred towards the original hybrid. After all, Malia lost her father at the hands of the monster that stood before her, and she wasn’t one to forget so easily. Hands curled into fists at her side, in attempt to keep her composure.

“I know you’ll be fine. You’re a total pro.” Caroline told her with a grin as she pulled out two items out of the basket, a bottle of gatorade and some cookies. “But that doesn’t mean I don’t want you to be as comfortable as humanly, or wolfy possible.” She joked before pausing for a moment as she held out the snacks for her. “Wolfly?” She asked for a moment quirking a brow as if Hayley would have some kind of final ruling on her joke. “You have cookies and a gatorade, to help your blood sugar levels and to make sure your electrolytes are full. Which you need to eat now. Oh- also I put an external battery pack in the basket as well so you can charge your phone while you’re running around. Plus a brush, a mirror, a tinted lip balm and some mascara.” She knew the change would hurt and things that were outside her control made Caroline over compensate. “Eat your snack.”
Eyes rolled at the attempted wolf jest, unable to suppress her own amusement at Caroline’s terribly cheesy joke. The werewolf continued to watch her friend, the sudden feeling of gratitude washed over her. It felt strange to have someone care for her well being when it came to the full moon; she never had that before. What with having been separated from her family when her home went up in flames, and travelling among strangers in a pack-- it was rare for someone to show this kind of concern towards her. Shaking her head lightly, she lets out a soft sigh of defeat as she caved, and took the snack Caroline had prepared for her off her hands, “ Fine. But just so you know, you’ve gone full blown soccer mom mode. ” she quipped as she twisted the cap off the bottle of gatorade, taking a sip. Apart of her couldn’t help but worry for her friend, knowing that being in the bayou was a major risk for her. Hayley couldn’t help but appreciate the vampire even more; after all, Caroline was essentially putting herself in a dangerous situation for her sake. “-- you should probably head back into the city now... marathon that one tv show you’re always on about. ” She wanted nothing more than for the other to go somewhere safe and far from where the werewolves prowled.

Despite having the choice of whether to turn or not, perhaps one of the luxuries of being a hybrid since he had every intention of eventually gaining an ally in the wolves he chose to stick around the Bayou and watch the way they went about the monthly change. Should he of course feel obliged he would happily turn into a wolf himself but for now he was happy being no more than a witness. Strolling around for a brief period had him raising a brow at an approaching presence so he gave a raised brow “Yes?”
She’d been minding her business, going about the full moon as she always had-- alone, for the most part. She doubted the crescent werewolves would welcome some outsider, who was only in the city for family purposes, so she kept to herself as she continued to roam the bayou; playing the waiting game. It was only a matter of time before the full moon would begin to affect her, but until then she did her best to keep a sense of control. It was then that she spotted a dreadfully familiar figure in the distance, brows furrowed as she carefully approached the other, “ What the hell are you doing here? ”

Aiden was always on edge when it came to a full moon, more so now that he had his younger brother to worry over. “Hey you’re gonna be okay, the others will take care of you while i’m gonna and i’ll hang out with you all of tomorrow like I promised.” chuckling lightly as the five year old moved in for a hug and he happily returned it.
Hayley had followed the scent she’d picked up on-- the scent of werewolves. She knew the bayou was werewolf territory, but she hadn’t exactly had the opportunity to meet with many new faces. Eventually, she found herself stumbling upon another of her kind, keeping her distance. She watched from the sidelines, as the other spoke to what appeared to be his sibling. After a few moments, the werewolf finally begins to approach the unfamiliar face with caution, “ -- younger brother? ” the questions slips past her lips without so much as a second thought, curiosity having overtaken her.

“Okay so, I picked out the comfiest and cutest outfit for you for when you change back. It’s easy to put on because who knows what kind of wolves are going to be around here.” Caroline began flipping a hand to the side. “Then I put some water in along with a few granola bars, just to tide you over for when you wake up— well transform back. I also put in some lotion in case you wanted to moisturise.” She continued pointing to the items as she went. “Also a tooth brush and some toothpaste because you know gross post wolf mouth. Then I finished it up with some mace, but it’s wolfsbane mace, so the scent should hold off anyone else from sniffing it out. Plus then if someone tries to get handsy with you after you change back you can mace the crap out of them.” Caroline finished flipping the little picnic basket shut. “I put your name on the top too and we have a red ribbon we can tie to the branch of this tree to hide it under. Which will help in case you’re disoriented.”
@crescentforged
" You really didn’t have to do this, you know... ” she watches as her friend sifts through the items in her personalized package, brows raised in amusement at the sight of the mace she’d thrown in. It felt a bit unnecessary, having gone through a full moon numerous times before and doing just fine without things like mace. Should anyone attempt to get, as Caroline called it, ‘handsy’ with her, she still had claws that proved to be useful every now and then. “ -- trust me, I’ve been dealing with turning into a wolf for years, Caroline... I’ll be fine. ” At the mention of a red ribbon, the werewolf couldn’t help but allow for a faint laugh to slip past her, arms folded across her chest, " So I have a basket with my name on it, and a red ribbon that will be tied to a tree... anything else, red riding hood? ” Hazel hues gave the blonde a single look over, taking note of the red coat she’d conveniently adorned for the occasion. A total Caroline move, the wolf had to admit, as an amused grin crept upon her features.

“You know I gotta say, vodka sucks and this crap is the worst.” she was just being honest but she figured it was cheap enough so that’s why people were eager to buy it. “Don’t tell me you’re more of a bourbon or scotch drinker because I swear half of the people in this city are made from the stuff.”
Hayley was flexible when it came to drinking, but her preference had always leaned towards scotch in particular. It was amusing that the other was accurate in their surmise, prompting the corner of her lips to tug upward ever so slightly. “ -- guilty as charged. ”

Finn held no desire strolling about the city and seeing the physical evidence to what his siblings, more importantly what his brother Klaus’ favorite pet prodigy, have done to New Orleans. The streets may have been once beautiful at one point, but that was long before warring species tainted them. “Bloody wastrels.” Finn mumbled to himself, lurking just at a block corner just as a pair of highly intoxicated couple stumbled out of the nearest bar. Nothing irked the Original more than moronic humans.
The wolf had been roaming the city, with no particular destination in mind. Being somewhat of a newbie, she figured exploring the streets of New Orleans would do her some good, and possibly suffice as a decent distraction to pass by the time. A bar she’d spotted had piqued her interest, as the werewolf prepared to make her way towards it, when a faint voice caught her attention. She shifts to find a man, curious hues survey the other for a brief moment, “ -- sounds like someone’s in a mood...I’m gonna take a wild guess: rough day? ”

“Don’t remind me,” Dani responded with a wave of his hand. “Still trying to make up for that.” It wasn’t his fault, he knew that, but he had wanted Jackson to have the best night that night and it turned into a total nightmare. “Can’t really be that bad if I married someone who is half werewolf.”
What happened was awful; no one deserves to have a special day ruined, let alone by hunters that wanted nothing more than to kill the supernatural at the event. The whole ordeal was one giant shit storm, and it was one that the werewolf had found herself caught in the middle of, unfortunately. A soft sigh escapes her, “-- some things happen that are beyond our control... ” a tinge of sympathy laced the words that fell past her lips, as she kept an otherwise casual front.
