- “dead of night” by niknak22 (a character study of kevin day, with kerejean hints and so, so much angst. kevin is a really interesting character and i love what niknak22 did with him)

- “say something” by willowbird (genuinely that whole series is awesome. andrew pov of neil struggling with trauma, going non-verbal and injuries, angsty but mostly wholesome.)

- “i wanna see you (be brave)” by arkastadt (matt’s pov of andreil developing… so beautiful. also, has loads of funny moments with the upperclassmen & shows their friendship)

- “odd eye” by tdashshirts (best andrew character study ever. it’s amazing and has inspired me to try and write more on andrew for myself)

I can imagine Jean’s reaction once the final buzzer crowns the USC Trojans champions over Penn State at the finals. His immediate reaction is to look for Jeremy. He sees his captain, frozen in place, glancing at the scoreboard. After giving his best and failing just before the finish line over and over again; after collapsing into the darkest abyss and clawing his way out of the pit of despair with bloody fingers; after being treated like an object, like a piece of meat, like property, a sacrificial lamb, a scapegoat; after uplifting others so he wouldn't think about his downfall; after welcoming a broken boy, helping him heal, grow and spread his wings, turning a bloodied raven into a golden phoenix; after allowing himself to love and be loved, Jeremy finally made it.

His teammates swallow him like a wave, dragging Jean towards Jeremy. There's laughter, cheers and tears. The energy is electric; the glass ceiling was finally broken; the cage was blown to smithereens. In the chaos of cardinal red and gold, Jean's eyes are glued to a particular blonde head and brown eyes. Jeremy takes off his helmet and holds it above his head while wielding his racket in the other. He's saluting the crowd.

For a moment Jean felt he was transported thousands of years to the past, to the stories Kevin yapped so incessantly. Jeremy was like Achilles parading before the walls of Troy; like Julius Caesar marching in triumph over Rome. His smile was radiant, content, victorious; the most beautiful Jean had ever seen.

At that moment, Jean knew he had fallen in love with the Sun. How could he not? How could he, who was drowned in black blood in the darkest pits of hell, not crave the light of Sol Invictus?

came here to talk about the difference between how kevin treats jeremy vs how he treats literally everyone else. from tgr, we clearly see that kevin can be nice. and i believe that is because he sees jeremy as his equal and it is not completely related to exy. kevin bosses around and orders people who he considers are great at exy but not with jeremy. he listens to jeremy. he isn’t shy with his compliments. he genuinely smiles around him & likes spending time with him outside exy. he tries to explain himself to jeremy. i see people saying like “why do the foxes treat kevin like shit” well maybe because kevin is also a bitch to them. and god bless him !! bc he wouldn’t be kevin day without being a bitch but lets not forget. and i do wonder where this clear difference comes from. maybe we’ll learn more when we get into his head in his book
