ugh and seeing the leaked spoilers for this weeks ep have me upset again (i wont spoil anything but they didnt make me happy). i feel like glenn was done so dirty. and he continues to be done dirty. maggie and hershel jr deserve better too

for me twd ended a long time ago. i wish they didnt do the absolute most to try and redeem someone who doesnt deserve it. its so forced and cringey i cant force myself to enjoy it, even for maggie

the negan and maggie spin off is literally a terrible idea for both characters

wouldnt it be better if negan had his own show by himself or with someone who likes him so he can move on from his past? at this rate, he can never move on. im still not for the redemption arc but theres no chance of that happening if hes travelling with the one person that reminds him of his past. he can never let go and neither can the audience at this rate.

its pretty self explanatory why its terrible for maggies character. she deserves better. does twd rly expect me to believe that her character would be ok with travelling with someone who terrorised her and ruined her life? who literally murdered the father of her child?

i also dont know what else they are going to explore with that dynamic. im pretty disappointed with how everythings turned out. i had high hopes but im not sure anymore.

i dont like negans character but even he deserves something better than travelling with a walking reminder of his past (along with the fact she wants to kill him). and obviously maggie just deserves better than what this stupid zombie show has laid out for her. and glenn is still somehow being mistreated after being dead for 6 years. im sure there couldve been a ton of better ideas amc

Saw some discourse in glenns tag for some reason but heres my take on it

I personally don’t feel like glenns arc was jeopardised by the fact that he was so focused on maggie. It would be so unrealistic if glenn stayed the same awkward, shy goofball that he was in s1-2. After everything that he went through, it makes sense for him to change into a more serious character. And having him go through that by finding love isn’t a bad thing! Initially, glenn was willing to risk his life to do menial tasks for the group just to feel valuable. Then he met someone who made him realise that he can be more. In fact, plenty of characters have had development that involved another character (or even just falling in love)

Its also unfair to disregard some of glenns individual arcs. Glenn was done dirty, no doubt about that. He deserved a darker era or some more serious character development. However he did have some individual development during s3 and s6. Imo, they couldve done way more with his arc in s6 (he killed someone for the first time..thats a big fucking deal) but what development he did have is so overlooked.

It is also nice to see an Asian American take the role as a hero and a badass rather than being the stereotypical sidekick, goofy type of character. Even before I was into twd I recognised glenn just because of how groundbreaking this was. Him getting development didn’t make him boring. It made him realistic.

twd 11x08 (spoiler warning)

i watched this ep like 2 weeks ago but go busy. anyway, it was the finale for 11A and i do have thoughts

- first off, i liked the episode overall but for a mid season finale, it was disappointing. when will twd learn that bad cliffhangers are overused

- pope’s death was very underwhelming. theres still so much that hasn’t been answered. why was he so mad at maggie? what did frost tell him? 

- i like leah becoming the new villain though. her and daryl is still a no for me but im excited to see her as a villain

- the cliffhanger sucked. even without the teaser for 11B we know that negan and maggie are going to survive. so theres no suspense, just frustration

- i also wish they had commonwealth in this ep. that storyline is far more interesting and we haven’t seen pamela milton yet

- ok so now for the positive parts: i liked the whisperers part. i was actually getting worried for our group with the bombs

- maggie carried the ep tbh. she looked so cool and her hot-wiring that car was just badass

- rosita’s fighting scene was also badass. although she did have a strange look on her face so im worried something happened. i dont think shes bit..but maybe she saw something? she told everyone to get away from the windows too

- im stressed for gracie. i think shes gonna die soon. on top of that, i just dont understand her motivations this episode. it made no sense to go down to find a weapon, even if she wanted to be like judith. kids in the apocalypse shouldnt be that stupid

- im glad connie and carol interacted. i hope carol gets around to apologising or at least talking to connie about the caves

overall, it was a good ep but i wish it was more intense for a mid-season finale. pope was a shit villain and the reapers were under utilised. 

also without spoiling anything, leahs actress accidentally leaked a death of a minor character on her insta and i thought that was pretty funny lmao. i knew they were gonna die but i wonder what else is gonna be spoiled before Feb next year

also JUSTICE FOR ALDEN. hes still in the god damn church

twd 11x07 (spoiler warning)

i cant believe that we are almost done with the first third of s11 :,(. twd is getting closer to the end. plus i look forward to new eps every week

this ep just reaffirmed my belief even more that negan’s story isnt a redemption arc. he cant be redeemed and he has to know that. negan has changed a lot. hes not evil but he also isnt good either. yes, its true that him being honest to maggie was important to their relationship but also what the fuck possessed him to say that to her? For context, negan said that if he could go back he would have killed everyone at the line up. this makes sense and is logical, but saying to maggie didnt make sense to me. especially because he wanted her to promise a truce. i appreciate how complicated negans character is but it also confuses me on what the writers want him to be portrayed as. i mean, they brought up innocent saviours that died in the war (while totally disregarding all of the communities negans saviours hurt but thats another story) but they also show that negan isnt super regretful of what he did. he just wishes he was more brutal. i think it makes him an interesting character but i cant like him still.

other than that, i liked negan bringing back the whisperers tactic to get through that big horde. like that genius?? also maggie looked so cute in her oversized mask. obviously im obsessed. i feel bad for poor elijah though, having to see someone he cared about in the horde. i thought he was gonna pull a sam but im glad he didnt. 

gabe had an encounter with a pastor reaper. im glad they had that interaction. gabe and the reapers would be such an interesting concept, i wish they took him instead of daryl. but im also scared they are setting up gabe’s death. not looking forward to that.

yumiko in her suit...*bites lip*. nah but fr she looked so good. also, im sure the reason tomi got taken away is because miko accidentally revealed the truth about him being a doctor during that interrogation. but thats a theory. 

also we got to meet sebastian milton...god i was not excited for this character. this mf is already SO ANNOYING. also how was eugene supposed to know who he was?? they never even told him. not to mention how lance told eugene, “you should’ve saved him. you could’ve been a hero”. UM HE DID TRY TO SAVE HIM?? AND SEBASTIAN WAS MAD?? god i didnt think twd could make a character more unlikeable than nicholas and gregory but they did a good job.

daryl and leah’s arc in this ep was ok. that scene with the family was important for leah. obviously she isnt as ruthless as pope and she has some heart. but she still picked a group that decided to destroy a community because they liked their home?? at least thats what i gathered from what leah told daryl. im curious to see what’ll happen to daryl when hes eventually forced to pick a side.

while this ep wasn’t as intense and amazing as the last one, it was still great. and im pissed at negan but the convo he had with maggie was rly important. it gave them more development besides negan getting frustrated over maggies plan and then not leaving when she tells him to. also, i think someones gonna die next ep..im prepared to start shitting tears.
