honestly homestuck HAD so many kinda dogshit relationships in it that i don't really blame people for seeing the mutually-assured destruction going on with Vriska and Terezi and jumping to conclusions but like. dude they were only relationshipping before the cycle of violence began or after it was finished canonicity-wise.
#also for the record calling it toxic isn't necessarily the same as calling it abusive#toxic yuri can be (generally IS esp. for the retconners) applicable there. its toxic! admittedly less toxic to each other and more toxic#to everyone else. but toxic works!#that SAID i'm far more bias to interpretations where they'. aren't. that.#theres arguably more narrative merit in having them be mutually enabling the universe to death but i quite like having them reconciling be#character growth thing#(hence my preference to GO!vrisrezi)#(not that their relationship would or should be struggle-free peaches and sunshine but like)#(MAYBE WE COULD HAVE EXPLORED THEIR DYNAMICS AND GROWTH AND DEGROWTH AND CHANGE IF WE EVER FUCKING SAW THEM AGAIN)

the retcon isn't inherently bad but people whose analysis of it hinges on vriska getting a "bad" ending pre-retcon, or her death being somehow immoral or wrong on terezi's part, should be locked in the torture dimension for a year with no food or drink
