hello! how close is this to beginning (aka how many more entries until it's full)? i'm wondering when this will begin. (sorry if this is rude!!)

It's not rude at all!! We actually just figured out our last competitor in the bracket, so now we just gotta figure out the bracket match-ups. So not much longer now! I'm so sorry this has been taking a while, things have gotten busy on my end, but I'm still keeping up on this best I can.

Ever had a pair of media-crossed characters that you just know in your heart would be the best friends ever, should they ever meet? Maybe even they've crossed over and became friends already, and that friendship has lived in your head ever since? Or maybe they're even media-crossed.... lovers?

(sans and reigen will be excluded from the competition.)

Then this is the tumblr tournament for you! To decide which crossover pair of characters is the very best-- whether it be due to their legendary potential friendship or legendary potential romance, this poll is here to determine the very best! (according to tumblr's bias at least)

Check under the read more for the submission form and rules!

Rules

-Submissions must be a pair of individuals, and must come from different medias! Different continuities from the same media (like say, transformers) don't really count. Canon crossovers are fine for submissions, though!

-While ships can be submitted, I will not accept or tolerate any ships with pedophilic (or otherwise unhealthy) age gaps.

-No real life people, or characters that exist as self-inserts for real life people. (this includes minecraft youtubers)

-Whether submissions are appropriate will mostly be decided at the modders discretion, but just to be clear, any submissions from hp, aot, and h/zbin hotel will be ignored.

-Multiple pairs that include 1 of the same character are allowed, to some degree! (For example, sans & reigen and sans & komaeda could both be seperate competitors) We will try to regulate that though so one character doesn't overwhelm the bracket.

-Most importantly, have fun! This is a good nature-d competition, and while ribbing and being competitive is encouraged, it's still just a tumblr poll at the end of the day.

Welcome!!

Have you or a loved one ever known a character without a face, without an image? A character that just never showed up on screen, a character who might just be a bit too camera-shy? Well you, my friend, are in the right place!

This is the No Design Derby, a tournament for characters who don't have an official design! To a completely obscured design, to a form they can take but just never did on screen, you can submit them and maybe see them fight against another faceless friend!

To submit, you can either: Reblog, and put the character name and what media they're from in the tags. This way, every time someone submits, the tournament gets spread around for more and more to see! Submit via the form, which allows anonymously submitting characters if you're shy! I still would appreciate any reblogs to spread this around!

The deadline is April 22nd 5 PM EST!

Rules may change here and there as more people discuss how the derby should go (I've never done this before) but right now, here are the rules!

Rules:

No irredeemable media. If I view the character you submit to be from a piece of media that is problematic, I will ignore the submission.

I'd put no real life people here, but.. I think that literally wouldn't even be possible?

Character must have, if not all, most of their design obscured. We can kindly debate over whether or not a character may count, but basically, a character who only has their face obscured will be ignored.

Characters in an on-going series who have been mentioned and could appear eventually are allowed.

Podcast characters will be allowed, but will most likely be limited to one character per podcast.

If the character is super obscure, and I can't find any info on them from a google search, I may not include them. You can describe the character and their role in their media in the tags if they dont show up quickly on a google search.

Also regarding obscurity, don't be afraid to submit characters from less popular media! Characters without designs aren't too common anyway, so if we have to dive deep for a big bracket, that's fine!

welcome to the unreliable narrator smackdown! a character tournament for narrators who mislead, deceive, and perhaps even get caught up in their own webs. characters who only know how to eat hot chip and lie. characters who make you say....

submit characters here, with a tentative deadline of 4/27. you can submit any fictional character so long as they are 1. a narrator and 2. an unreliable one. the character you submit doesnt have to be a good person, but please use your head and your common sense.

I'll be vetting submissions personally, with the aim of eliminating ill-fitting or overly heinous characters, and characters from dumb crud i hate. if your character gets eliminated on these grounds, or on other secret grounds known only to me, please dont be too upset. this is just for fun. thanks in advance for keeping things chill.
