Spring is Coming

Around mid afternoon, at the Butler National Golf Club course, when the sun is hided by dark rain clouds, bright colors are starting to form. The light barley escaping through the stormy sky, be still able to blame down upon the remains of what nature is left and touch the need green forming below. With your eyes naturally drawing to the new blooming plants, light hitting the dead mangled plant in the back adds for a fable tone to the picture. As if this picture was the beginning of a new story, with spring starting.

Sheltered Pathway

What is really emphasized, in both color and black and white, is the texture of the trees. Their branches dooming over the top frame of the photo, with the sun beating down the shapes of their long arms can be seen on the gravel road. Along with the texture of the trees the lighting of the photo really stands out, how the right half of the photo appears much darker to the left side. The large group of trees on the right, seeming to be darker in color and thin skinnier shape of body, adds a different wicked tone to the photo. Compared as to the left side, the trees still numerous in numbers but lacking a darker more shadowy appeal.

Perspective

For this project we were assigned to shoot three different locals of landscapes, being local, far away, rural, urban, land or water, and including people or not. For this photo I had the ability to capture the environment around me through the reflection of the small body of water. Waterfall Glen being home to nature trails and many other breathtaking natural attractions, has a large number of ponds or bodies of water throughout the park. This small portion of a run down pond is able to catch the image of the trees above, making the image a contrast between reflection and reality.

Foamy Views

The path ways found around Butler National Golf Club course, a place where I used to take school dance photos, provided me with it’s own picture today. The sky being cloud free and the sun gleaming down upon the water mid afternoon, caused the pond to create a master piece of its own. This place being no more special than your common pathway or pond in your local neighborhood, yet it has conjuring suds to catch the eyes of all those who who pass by it. With the nice weather being reflected through the environment and the light from the sun illuminating the water, it gives the image a richer story to tell.

In my room I have this strange small chairs as decoration, but by using them in this photo I was able to create a whole little world. Each person when viewing this photo has their own thoughts or own stories behind how the chairs got there, why are they so small, and how the sewer no longer looks like a sewer.

For this assignment we had to take 25 different photos of a single sewer. It had to be in between the hours from dawn to dust and each photo had to be unique to itself. An object like a sewer usually gets overlooked in everyday life, so for the assignment I brought in other objects that someone would instantly see and question. By adding color water to this dull, dirty sewer it gave the image a completely different view. The red water bringing color to the sewer and the photo as a whole.
