Crow notes - never done headcannons before other than in my head lmao so stay with me

Warnings - a little nfsw in the date part but hardly

Where do I even begin, I feel like there’s a LOT that I can say about this guy

- starting with how you met. Whether you’re a part of hiccups riders, a random Viking in berk, or even a solo dragon rider trying to take out trappers - the first time you meet he’s not gonna think much about you. He’s not gonna have a love at first sight moment, maybe a little attraction but that’s at the very most.

- I mean considering how he reacted to ruffs flirting, man does not have the time nor the mental space to think about relationships.

-With Drago breathing down his neck and his actual job as a dragon trapper, life is too dangerous for love. Then once he joins Berk I think a lot of his thoughts are occupied with trying to fit in and find his place in the village.

- 100% slow burn falling in love type.

- It’s gonna either be a friends to lovers or the more interesting enemies to lovers, but either way it’s gonna be slow burn.

- if you’re a born Berkian Viking then becoming friends with you probably surface level satiates the desire to fit in and find a place of belonging in Berk. But if you’re new to Berk like he is? That initial friendships gonna be a lot stronger. Being able to bond over both being new, maybe bother not being Vikings / originating from other countries. You’re gonna have a lot to relate to when it comes to shared experiences with Vikings and Viking culture, and also the safety to talk about your different cultures together.

- But now hear me out! He’s not the love a first sight type yes, he takes a while to realize he’s even crushing on someone. But once he DOES realize he likes you? Once everything clicks for him? (Or once someone else points out how obvious it is) Yeah he’s whipped. He’s gonna make a fool of himself trying to woo and impress you.

- I mean he’s Eret son of Eret, with great muscles and is a badass (his thoughts). He definitely doesn’t have much experience in romance so subtly isn’t going to be his strong suit. He’s going to go out of his way to show off his strength and out of no where he’s gonna start acting very gentlemanly.

- You’re moving wood or nets? He’s there to help. You just landed your dragon? He’s offering his hand to help you down. Saves you a spot to eat with him. Opens doors for you. Will scope out land or caves before you to make sure they’re safe. If you shiver once he’ll literally take his shirt off to put on you. You’ll protest but he’ll be adamant that he doesn’t need it. And maybe you don’t fight too hard to get him to put his shirt back on, because now you’ve got a great view of his full chest. And this fuels his pride (ego) even more, because A he’s keeping you warm B you’ve got his shirt on and C he can see you checking him out. Win win situation frankly.

- Did I mention all of these things he does without really saying anything? If you’re the oblivious type then all these acts of service would go over your head as flirts. Because he just sort of Does them, no fanfair about it. Astrid and Hiccup would tease you for his constant flirting but you’d just excuse it as “that’s just how he is!” And Snotlout will grumble about how he never helps Him off Hookfang.

- Him putting his shirt on you is where you finally accept he MAYY have feelings for you.

- Speaking of the cave thing though, he’s gonna get very protective. He’s seen the bad in the world and suddenly he’s very aware of all the things that could hurt you. So yeah can get a bit on edge about keeping you safe.

- Protective yes but possessive no. Before you start courting if he sees someone checking you out he’ll probably throw a glare their way but nothing else. But once you’re together? Arms around your shoulder and he’s giving you a kiss that last long enough that by the time you pull apart the guy checking you out has left.

- Frankly I’ve no clue how he’d go about confessing his feelings for you.. this is outta my scopes. I think he’d need a lot of motivational talk with other people to be able to work himself up to it. Part of him is probably hung up on his past and he may have some doubts about being good enough for you. That’s the only thing I can see holding him back.

Once y’all are together -

- Will go from helping you down your dragon by your hand, to lifting you down by your waist.

- He gets more touchy once you start officially courting, but he’ll always ask if it’s okay. I can see him as the type to always be resting a hand on you. On your back/ shoulder while you’re walking through the town. The farther you’re into your relationship, I can see him holding your thigh as you sit side by side at a table, probably pulling it to be touching his.

- do you see those scars on his arm in the first photo? Yeah mans has got scars for days. If you’re as insane as I am about scars than they’re even harder for you to keep your eyes off than his muscles.

-He’ll get shy and maybe self conscious when he notices you looking at them. Wondering if you’re grossed out by them. So don’t hold back when you tell him you find them hot, especially when he gets a confused flustered look on his face.

- once you guys do start courting y’all quickly realize private dates are nearly impossible to get.

You try to eat together and suddenly your entire table (once completely empty) is now full of big loud Vikings.

Taking a walk together on the cliffs, your knuckles brushing and inching to close the distance? Yeah ruff and tuff are above you trying to “add to the romance” by “making it snow” aka dumping fish bones on your heads.

Having a solitary moment where you’re both working on adjustments to your dragons saddles? Fishlegs comes in and starts chattering about the idea of dragon cross breading 💀.

In an attempt at actual peace Eret convinces the food hall owners to give him access to the hall after close for a quiet dinner. Honestly he was really proud of the whole idea AND the execution. As mentioned before he doesn’t have much experience in being romantic. So when you meet him there like requested, your very surprised by how well it’s put together. He’s got a small table pushed in front of the fire place. On it is a little vase that you’re not sure where he got, but it’s got dainty white flowers puffing out of it. He’s wearing a brown shirt youve never seen before, it’s clearly borrowed given it fits him loosely. But he put effort into his outfit and you can’t deny he looks nice. Suddenly your hands feel sweaty and you’re worried you’re under dressed. When you voice this, he just laughs and says your look as beautiful as always. You’re halfway through the food Eret saved from the kitchen when a couple of drunk Vikings bumble into the building talking loudly yet incoherently to each other. It took Eret 25 minutes to explain to them that the food hall is closed and they need to leave despite the fact that you two were in there. You ended up having to clean up after one of them managed to get into a tankard of ale. But regardless you had a good time.

Fed up with Vikings crashing your dates you take over on planning a date (where as beforehand it’s been Eret coming up with dates). And that’s how you two ended up fleeing Berk on one of your dragons to go picnic on a small island nearby (not to close though).

Would it have been easier to fly over on separate dragons? Yes. But that’s soo not sexy. And you know what is? Erets big arms wrapped around your own, his hands coming together at the small of your stomach to hold the dragons reigns. Your back flush against his front and his breath against your neck. Neither of you really speak on the ride over, other than directions. You’re too aware of the warmth radiating off his arms that hug you to him and how his hands are inches from your own. And you can’t help but notice the silver scars that line his arms.

Eret was practically getting drunk off your scent. Breathing in your smell, from your hair to your well-worn clothes, it took every bit of his strength to not curl forward into your body and let his head bury into the crook of your soft neck.

By the time you both got to the island you were practically steaming with the heat that reddened your face and ears. And Eret was legit dizzy with how close you two had been and how much he relished getting to hold you to him. It pained him to have the pressure and warmth of your body no longer there. Gods he was in DEEP.

Obviously the date goes amazing, maybe a little hike, reading or anything that ties into y’all’s hobbies. Then y’all just spend the day lazing on the beach, snaking on the picnic you packed. Even after you finish all the food, which there was a lot of because let’s be real he eats a lot. Neither of you are exactly jumping to get back. So when the sun starts to set he builds a bonfire and you two just continue to bask in each others company. You’re gonna be half sitting half laying down next to each other, shoulders brushing. And yeah he’s totally gonna do the yawn and shoulder drape/lean thing (whatever it’s called). He’ll pull you close to him, your legs entangling, and you’d grab his free hand, finally, taking his hands in yours. Your face would come to rest in the crook of his neck and he’d feel your soft breath.

You would kiss for the first time then, and for a while too. Your hands roaming, one to his chest, the other to delicately cup his face. His would hold you strongly to him, on your back and upper arm. The kiss would deepen, your teeth bumping together, a small groan rumbling in his chest as your hand twisted in his hair. His mind would grow fuzzy with lust, with how you were kissing him like you were starving, and how much he wanted to take you then and there on the sand. Gods it was all he could think about since you got to the damn island. But he couldn’t gods he couldn’t. With his hand holding your chin he pulled back breaking the kiss. Both your breathing was heavy and ragged. Your foreheads came to rest together, your eyes still scrunched shut. His half lidded as he looked over your face, your lips red and puffy. He’d bring you with him as he laid fully down, not baring to let you go just yet. You’d stay wrapped together, stargazing, until the fire died out and you were forced to go back to Berk.

- okay damn got a little carried away there.. will probably expand that later …. Anyway back to headcanons…

-love language? BIG gift giver and acts of service man. When he’s showing his love it’s going to be in either of those fields. But receiving love? Very receptive to quality time and gentle physical touch.

-quality time is obvious in the dates he plans with you. Boy does he just wanna relax in your presence, just something about you makes him feel calm. Other than the nervous in love jitters he can’t shake until a couple months into your courtship (but he still gets those even after, not that he’d let up about it).

- ERET BUILDING YOUR HOUSE??? as SOON as Eret learns about the betrothal gift tradition for Vikings he started building your future home. This could have started even before you started courting, I think it entirely depends when he first heard about the tradition. But if he does hear about it before you started courting? Yeah he’s starting to build it anyway. Putting those muscles he’s always showing off to use. There’s nothing sexier than a buff (securely) masculine man building you things. He def uses this project as a way to work out his stresses from his past, being new the berk, and his in love jitters.

- related to that I can see him taking on building (smaller) things as gifts for you. Working with his hands seems like it would be a good way to ease lingering tensions.

- public nicknames like sweetheart, sugar, gorgeous, but alone it’s solely Love. Honestly I think he’d use more nicknames than your actual name, then when he does say your actual name it has the same effect as Love.

There’s probably a lot more I could talk about for him but if I don’t post this soon I’ll never finish it. So lemme know if I should continue on some things

The Kind of Guy To…

Snotlout Jorgenson

He's been one of my childhood crushes for forever (I literally was able to go to the first movie in theaters) it has been my favorite franchise and the live action did him so good :((( my babyyyyy

- He’s flirty to everyone, you might say, but when he falls, he actually falls and pays attention to you and only you.

- When you get together, he’s so scared of messing up, literally terrified.

- He’s an acts of service giver, but in a way that’s kind of scary. He thinks that to earn your love he has to do things for you and EARN your affection. His dad messed him up. In his life affection has never been given freely.

- Always offers to carry your stuff, even when you can handle it. Often picks you up as well because his “loving future wife shouldn’t have to be on her feet all day”

- Give him praise and he will melt. He’s never been praised, so when you say things like “you’re so strong!” Or “wow that was so cool!” Or “Thanks… I appreciate you.” He’s literally melting like a puppy for you.

- If you told him to kneel at your feet he would. When he’s with someone, I feel he’s devoted to the point of forgetting his pride a little bit. Legitimately thinks ‘pride be damned I love her…” Just don’t do it in public. He’d still do it… just maybe a lil embarrassed

- Kept confessing to you, and you through it was a joke until he finally asks you, “Why don’t you like me back?” You’re shocked. But it showed you he was serious.

- His type is badass women warriors with strength and courage, especially those with leadership capabilities. Don’t get him wrong, he loves being in charge, but he doesn’t mind when his woman is the one bossing him around… Also, as a strong, Norse Viking man… oh there’s nothing more he loves than a girl that’s on the plus sized side. You’re so plush, and so soft and so cute and hot and he can pick you up like a ragdoll and oh- . He loves it. He says that stretch marks “are something only FOOLS would call imperfections.”

- When you first start dating he’s scared to even hold your hand for fear of being too rough, too clingy, too much and too little at the same time. He seems like a prideful and scary guy, but when you get to know him, he’s scared and a little damaged.

- Often times, when Spitelout is involved, he just… keeps his head down, doesn’t really talk back and agrees… but when you defend him???? Oh boy, he is like yep this is the one.

- On that note, he won’t talk back against Spitelout UNLESS he’s talking badly about you. Then he goes against everything his mind is telling him and protects you, defends you, against anything his dad is saying.

- Not super big on physical touch. Sure he’s touchy, but it’s not his preferred way to feel loved or give it.

- At the edge, he often says that you two should have just had one singular home, because you have your own space, but you’re always in his anyway.

- Uhm the monstrous nightmare is the most heavy metal Viking proving dragon right? Yeah thats his dragon. He has to be one hell of a dragon rider, brave too. Hookfang and him have their moments but at the end of the day, they love each other like no other.

- Speaking of Hookfang is always so nice to you. The first time you were trying to decide who to ride with for something (you didn’t have your own dragon yet) you were scared Hookfang wouldn’t like you. Snotlout thinks you didn’t hear him when he said “He’ll care about you because you’re important to me…”

But you did.

- Always trying to be useful in one way or another. Like I said, he’s damaged from years of Spitelout on the brain, that you have to re-wire him into believing he’s worthy of love, and that he doesn’t have to earn it or pay you back.

“I just… I have to be useful I-i have to prove I’m worth your attention and your love and-“

“Snotlout… you don’t have to prove anything… you’ve already got me…”

“But I want to keep you… I-i don’t wanna mess up.”

- Late night flights, because then you’re both alone and he can be mushy and not think his pride is at stake. Yes, he still has that.

- Nicknames he calls you include: Babe, love, future wife, N/N, my heart.

- Knows absolutely everything about you, likes dislikes, even down to every mark on your body, he knows you like a map I swear to the gods-

- Whenever he sees you wearing something of his he has to take a deep breath and just “Odin give me strength to continue my task and not drag her back in there-“

- Mmm jealous? Looks like it. Internally? Scared you’ll find “better”.

“Dearest, no one is better for me than you…”

“B-but there is I’m sure of it I mean look at me I-i don’t… I don’t deserve someone as amazing as you.”

(Give him a kiss and say you love him and that changes to)

“Of course you’re with me , I mean I am great I’m… I’m… so… you should kiss me again.”

- Uh certified crashout, anyone talks bad about you, threatens you, hurts you? Oh boy…

- Always wants your attention, often doing stupid and dangerous things to get it. This goes from the Trial of Fire to… now. For Thor’s sake, he nearly got Deadly Nadder spikes in his brain for trying to impress you during a dragon raid.

- Speaking of, going back to HTTYD 1, he definitely tries his hardest to show you he actually cares. One time your house was amongst the first to catch fire, and he had come in to help you and your family out. Of course, at the time, you thought he was just helping and trying to seem heroic, not because he loved you more than his own life.

- Oh yeah, risks his life for yours. All the time. You get captured? He is telling Hiccup and the gang that they need to go get you now! This is of utter importance! He would barter his life for your own, and if he were Orpheus and you Eurydice, he would have traveled to Helheim and back to get you by his side.

(And yes. He would turn around. Because he loves you. And to show love is to turn around. To check that they are still with you, to protect. And Snotlout, above all, is a man who protects who and what he loves.)

- Snotlout is a major yearner. Even though he gives off a total cocky attitude, he’s secretly a hopeless romantic. You’ve even heard rumours from the twins that they saw him drawing pictures of you in his notebook late at night…

- He actually smells really good (like surprisingly good). He smells like musky cedarwood and campfire smoke, with a hint of salty ocean air

- He loves to braid your hair. This seems kind of obvious, given viking culture with braids, but he personally loves to do it as a pastime or when he’s feeling anxious about something & needs a distraction. He’s actually really good at it too (thanks to Astrid and Ruffnut teaching him over the years).

- He sneezes like a maniac. You know those “dad sneezes” where it sounds like a b0mb just went off? Yeah, those. He knows how much it startles you but he just can’t help it (you’ll usually see him with an apologetic smile on his face after letting one go while you’re around).

- He loves to spoil you. Random gifts will appear in your room, like hand carved wooden figures, or a bouquet of forest greens all tied up with a leather cord. He makes sure to pick the greenery that is aromatic & will make your room smell good.

- He’s totally a switch in bed. He likes to be dominant most times (partially because he thinks it makes him “a man”), but it would be a lie to say that he doesn’t like to be the bottom. He’ll spend half the time just looking up at you with those tired puppy-dog eyes and it’s like you’re in heaven.

- He’s very vocal in bed once he gets comfortable. Like I’m talking deep breathing, borderline whiny noises in bed. It takes a few times for him to get comfortable enough being very vocal, but now that he’s used to it he does NOT hold back.

- As often as he can, he loves to bring you to his little secret hideout on the island so you can spend some alone time together (😏). It’s honestly the only place on the island that is guaranteed nobody will walk in on you two while you’re getting it on (that’s happened one too many times in the village).

- He is the master of aftercare. He’ll run you a hot shower, and then hop in with you and massage your back and shoulders while you wash off. He knows how much you love it, but he loves it too, because he cherishes any chance he gets to just look at you and appreciate how attractive you are.

- His favourite body part of yours (other than your face) is your thighs. Any chance he gets to rest his head in your lap, he will take it. He doesn’t ever do this around the others, because he’s too afraid of seeming “weak” (although I think the yearning is what makes a man A MAN), but when you two are alone it is quite literally one of his favourite places to be.
