The jewels were presented to HM on 4 May 1971 from the Government of British Columbia when HM was in British Columbia to mark the centenary of the Province joining the Canadian Confederation.
They were presented at a formal luncheon held in the Empress Hotel, Victoria. At the same time a bracelet of jadeite & gold dogwood flowers was presented to Princess Anne.
The late Queen Elizabeth wore the jewels the next evening for a banquet at Government House, Victoria but it seems never wore them again in public.
