“Don’t try and argue you, you know it’s true,” was Josh’s only response to Oliver’s whine as he reached out, fingers brushing through his fur again. “You really do make a beautiful wolf though.” The words left his mouth before he could take them back.
oliver twisted beneath his touch, rolling onto his belly, every once in a while lapping at the vampire’s arm, or hand, whatever was in reach, as he was complimented. oliver knew he was good looking, regardless of the species, and he would have been smug about it, had he possessed the capability to do so in this form.

“Except pretty sure i’m just messing with ya…-” Hell he wasn’t sure how much of a friend Oli considered him most days but Aiden definitely considered him one and he spent most days trying to convince people that Oli wasn’t a complete dick. A laugh followed the question though, “Five, so I have what six good years before he starts playing the music that’s gonna make me go death and my name goes from Aiden to dick.” He nodded at the thought, six years felt like a while right now but he was sure they’d fly by.
“pretty sure? bastard,” oliver grunted, but a smile tugged on the corners of his mouth still, all in good fun, he assumed the other understood. they made their way into the clearing and oli took a seat on a conveniently placed trunk, the tree had been cut a while back for firewood but mostly served as a place for them to sit while waiting for the moon to reach it’s peak. “fuck,” the wolf nodded, a chuckle following, “good luck with tha’ one.”

Josh watched as the other trotted away before jumping on the bed. A small chuckle escaped his lips as he pushed himself up from the floor to follow the other. “You know, you seem happier as a wolf than you do, well, a person.” Granted, it wasn’t as if Oliver bit his head off or anything but it was just an observation.
oliver whined, his only attempt at a response, though it was true, even if he hadn’t realised it. as a wolf, he didn’t have cravings, there was no pressure, no talking, they were just animals, living animal lives. it was easier not to be angry, too, and while there was still some nagging feeling deep within him telling him to kill, it was something he’d grown used to over the years. eventually, the wolf nodded, it was true, he preferred being this way, but he also couldn’t fuck josh as a wolf, or his girlfriend, so there was that too.

“Yeah you shutting up would be a miracle.” he chuckled, walking further away certainly always brought it’s sense of relief at least for him it did. “Definitely hoping for the emo, silent hate phase then and for now i’m gonna kinda love the years where he’s not telling me how much of a dick I am.” Aiden added with a shrug, tucking his hands into his pockets as he continued to walk.
“funny, I’ve been hearin’ that since I learned t’talk,” and that wasn’t even an exaggeration, while his brother had always been everyone’s favourite, even his parents, he had been the runt of the family, the one they hadn’t wanted, and they’d been tellin’ him to shut up from the moment he let out his first cry. thank god for dalton. maybe he should have been nicer to his older brother. “y’got some time, like -- how old is he?” oliver questioned, though he really should have known, he didn’t often pay attention.

“You know sometimes, you saying jack all would be appreciated..-” he joked slightly, moving with Oli and leaving his brother to however he’d spend the time. “Kinda pretending the teenage phase ain’t gonna happen with him but it’s probably inevitable…you think he’ll go through the whole emo phase?” Since he was basically raising Nick he wondered what Oli’s opinions were even if they were less than hopeful at the best of times.
“yeah well,” oliver shrugged his shoulders, burying his hands into his pocket as they moved deeper into the trees, away from the homes of the people they, well, he loved. he hummed in response to the question, running his fingers through his hair, “if he doesn’t, he’ll go through the angry phase, comes with the territory of bein’ a wolf but either way y’gonna get on his nerves. hell, dalton gets on m’nerves and I’m an adult. I’ll always be his kid brother, so he treats me like a kid, jus’ like you’ll do to your brother.”

Josh had to admit it was a little odd trying to communicate with a wolf even though he knew it was Oliver. “Bravest, huh?” He grinned a little at that, eyes closing for a moment at Oliver’s somewhat affectionate gestures. Josh had to admit, Oliver was attractive in his human form but he was a rather beautiful wolf and as much as he wanted to say that, he decided to keep it to himself.
once again, he nodded, it seemed he did know him well enough to at least know that much. it wouldn’t be very long till he was human again, but oliver wasn’t planning on returning to his pack tonight. the wolf trotted away from josh, jumping up onto the bed, tail wagging, he truly was taking this a little too far, but he wanted so desperately for the other to fall for him, he was willing to try just about anything.

Caroline bristled slightly at the comment of her kind, he didn’t know her. And she wasn’t exactly a fan of mass judgements on her character. However, coming across a strange werewolf in the woods reminded her all to well of her experience with Jules and her pack. “I know that.” She answered trying to keep her tone even. “I had to bring some things to my friend for her transformation.” Caroline told him, hoping the mention of Hayley would buy her some leniency. “I was going to try to find my cousin as well but I think he’s with his pack.” She didn’t trust them but she had people she loved more than her unease, more than the risk of a bite.

“your friend’s in here?” oliver glanced around, nodding his head, so they had vampire sympathisers in this new group of strays that had wandered in, the one’s jackson had welcomed with open arms. “if they’re here, they’re surrounded by their kind, darlin’, they don’t need a fuckin’ care package...” oliver’s use of swearing like punctuation often made him sound more hostile than even he intended, but that often worked out for him, especially when it came to vampires. “y’far too pretty to become puppy chow, blondie, why don’t y’head on home?”

It’d seemed like a cute idea at the time. The whole red hooded coat look for walking through the woods, or well bayou. She’d brought her post-full moon care package for Hayley in a basket and she was never not one to commit to an aesthetic. Now however with the full-moon in the sky and the occasional howl ringing out the blonde found herself clutching her mace tighter. It’d been worth those extra few hours together, at least that’s what she tried to tell herself. Still she knew Hayley had been right and she probably should have left for the Quarter while there was still a chance some wouldn’t have changed yet. Stiffening at the sound of a twig breaking Caroline immediately spun around her hood falling down. “Hello?” She waited for a moment before picking up a thick tree branch in her other hand.
“damn,” oliver whistled as he stepped out from behind a tree, eyeing the unfamiliar blonde, narrowing his eyes as he glanced upon the basket she’d lowered to the ground, “y’kind sure can be stupid.” the male neared her, head falling slightly to the side, “you know it’s a full moon, don’t ya? in about --” he glanced up at sky, hesitating before taking a guess, “ten minutes, bones are gonna start crackin’ and I can guarantee you, there ain’t a whole lotta wolves that been turnin’ since they were thirteen, not a lot of them gonna have the experience or control that I have darlin’.”

Aiden was always on edge when it came to a full moon, more so now that he had his younger brother to worry over. “Hey you’re gonna be okay, the others will take care of you while i’m gonna and i’ll hang out with you all of tomorrow like I promised.” chuckling lightly as the five year old moved in for a hug and he happily returned it.
“I can’t relate to that whole situation, you know, I triggered before dalt, but it sucks being away from an older brother,” oliver breathed, although he quickly shook his head, “when you’re a kid at least.” he tilted his head to the side, gesturing for aiden to move with him, “it’ll get to a point when he hates being around you, think y’got a pretty long way to go since then.” classic oliver, really, he really had to put a downer on everything.

Josh parted from Oliver in order to get the room before he found himself rejoining the wolf to get the door open. When Oliver pushed his head underneath his hand, Josh opted for sitting down on the ground, fingers brushing through his fur. “I don’t know if you’re the bravest wolf I’ve ever met or the dumbest.”
oliver let out a quiet whine, nodding again, his tongue sweeping out over josh’s hand, body lifting to plant his paws on the vampire’s shoulders. he would’ve argued bravest, he wondered if josh had come to understand his personality enough to know that, that would have been his response. the wolf nuzzled at josh’s neck, and then at his jaw, affection wasn’t exactly easy as an animal.

His smile grew a little bigger as he continued to run his fingers through Oliver’s fur before looking in the direction he was looking at, easily spotting the motel. He looked back at the wolf, his own head tilting to the side. “Seriously?” He raised an eyebrow but both of them knew he wasn’t going to say no. “Fine. Yeah, sure.” He almost grinned as he finally moved to stand back up.
the wolf nodded again, blinking a few times before moving towards the motel, heading straight for the same room they had last time, sitting by the door and waiting patiently. oliver even ensured he sat away from the light, he didn’t want to draw attention to himself, considering he was obviously larger than a dog, and he really didn’t feel like dying tonight. when josh came back, oli made his way inside and moved in a circle before coming back towards the vampire, pushing his head under his hand once again.

Josh hadn’t expected to see Oliver that night. Granted, he never really expected to see Oliver, they just so happened to cross paths. A small smile tugged at the vampire’s lips as he finally lifted his hand, allowing his fingers to brush through Oliver’s fur. “You shouldn’t be out here.” While he was happy that Oliver was around, he knew it could be dangerous for him. He assumed most vampires might have decided to call it an early night but he knew they wouldn’t all be like that.
oliver nodded beneath his touch, eyes closing as josh ran his fingers through his fur, just as ivy had done earlier that night. he truly was the worst kind of person, not an ounce of guilt rested in him for his affair. the wolf glanced around them after a moment, spotting the same motel they had hooked up a few nights prior. unable to respond in the usual way, oli’s gaze flickered between the motel and josh, his head tilting to the side.

Even when it became apparent to Josh that this was Oliver and not some lone wolf, he still found himself stunned. “Holy shit,” he breathed out again. He was hesitant but eventually closed their distance, moving to squat down in front of the wolf. “What the hell are you doing?”
if he could have, oliver probably would have smirked. instead, the wolf pushed his head below josh’s hand, nuzzling somewhat at his palm, eyes still resting on the vampire’s own. he may not have been able to communicate with words, but he wanted the other to be flattered by his arrival, he wanted josh to believe this was oliver risking his backside to be with him.

nolayolo19:
Full moons used to not be much of a worry. The wolves were generally out in the Bayou but now, Josh wasn’t too sure on what was going to happen. They could stay out there or they could come into the quarter and on top of that, there were also the new wolves and Josh wasn’t too sure on what would happen there. He didn’t plan to stay out for too long and in reality, he was heading back to his place when he heard the growl and slowly turned to face the wolf. “Holy shit.”
when he heard the curse leave josh’s lips, oliver knew he may not have realised just yet, and so he tried again. instead of a growl, a slow whine vibrated from his mouth, his frame lowering to the floor -- submission. surely josh knew what that was? had he ever even had a dog? would he just assume this was any other wolf attempting to avoid being killed for being in the quarter.

YOU CAN TRUST ME || ft. @nolayolo19
oliver knew it may have been pointless, if josh was not yet used to his scent, he wouldn’t be able to tell wolves apart but oli wasn’t too worried, he was a wolf tonight, no vampire would approach him, not unless they were stupid. oli went unseen, trotting about the quarter, keeping to the shadows, attempting to find josh. perhaps this wasn’t a good idea, though it certainly could have improved their bond, maybe the vampires were smart enough to not be alone tonight.
then he caught it.
that death feeling, then, josh’s scent.
the wolf moved towards the other, a low growl rumbling in his throat, hoping to attract the other’s attention for long enough to convince him of who he was. hoping he would not startle the other too much. when josh turned, oli lowered his head, blue eyes illuminating as their gaze met.

I SAY LOVE DON’T MEAN NOTHING || SOLO.
mentions: @nolayolo19, @crcscentalpha
it was almost as if he’d forgotten the pain of turning from man to wolf, to feel every bone crack, to feel as though he’d rather die than experience this pain anymore. dalton was close by -- he always was, and in typical, perfect big brother fashion, hoping to be oli’s anchor, not that, that mattered. the agony tore through him, and for what seemed to be the longest time, the bayou was filled with groans and moans, even the odd scream every once in a while.
eventually, it drifted off, the more human sounds alternated to the whines and growls of wolves. even oli, who’s head now rested between his paws, whined quietly into them. ivy, forever close by, even despite the lack of trust most held towards oliver in his transformation, remained at his side, running her fingers through his fur in an attempt at comfort. he welcomed that, letting his tongue escape every once in a while to offer the only show of affection he could in this form. he admired her, her bravery, her loyalty. refusing to turn herself, but refusing to leave her pack all the same, not many would do the same, hell, oliver wouldn’t do the same.
it seemed the pack was turning for most of the night, but that was a mere feeling, within no time at all, they were wolves, trudging around, sniffing, whining still. it wasn’t like it usually was, though, the atmosphere that was usually so calm, even in wolf form, was now replaced with a rage. the wolves were pissed, and for the first time in what felt like a long time, they felt powerful.
oliver was to blame, specifically, for the small group of younger males that were particularly aggravated tonight. before their turn, he’d assured them that they would have more power than usual, he had assured them that their alpha, his best friend, would insist on them keeping out of the quarter like they usually did, to linger in the woods like good little wolves, as to not piss off the so called king of new orleans. he’d encouraged their rage as it grew, fuelled their anger, and planted the seed for the idea of an attack. the wolves would never survive, oliver knew that, but if the vampires acted out, perhaps that would give jackson the kick up the ass that was needed to actually do something.
the wolf, himself, managed to escape the ever-watchful eyes of both his lover, and his brother, escaping into the quarter with only one thing in mind. perhaps he should have been mindful, or even, less selfish. but he figured that the fucking would eventually lose it’s trust, they were screwing for screwings sake, but if josh truly believed oliver could fall for him, he may offer more than the odd comment about his leader, he may be willing to trust josh with more.
and so, that was where he headed. right into the quarter. right to josh.

“I know, s’part of the damn reason I wanna fuck you every time I see you,” oliver hummed, biting at the vampire’s ear lobe before finding a harsh, slow pace with the other. each thrust was harsher than the other, burying deep into josh, slamming into him over and over. lifting a hand, oliver curled it loosely around the male’s neck, holding him in place, the other hand found his hip, forcing him to meet every push of the wolf’s hips.
