I love the symbolism of the mask being the "true" identity of a killjoy ... normally masks are used to shield a person's identity , but in Danger Days its one of the truest forms of self expression . When you leave battery city BL/ind. owns your face and your identity, so by making yourself a mask you're expressing your individuality in a way BL/ind. can't take from you . You die with your mask on because its the identity you crafted for yourself instead of the one better living bought . Which complements the fact that BL/ind. uses the drac masks to take away your identity . When they replace your mask with their own they literally take away your soul . You can take this headcanon from my cold dead hands

“first and last encounter”
retro has only once seen the Fab Four up close once, and it was only a passing moment but it’s one of their fondest memories. That is because only a week later, they heard on the radio the Fab Four had all died in the BL/ind headquarters attempting to rescue the girl-
aAAA A it’s been one of my biggest goals this year to start actually making comics and with this one being my very first, I’m pretty happy with it and I’m very excited to make more :) hope you guys enjoy ✨

“You simply cannot fit more America into a single incident than a man dying a horrifying death in protest of war crimes while a first responder screams at cops to stop pointing their guns at him and go get fire extinguishers. If you were to pick a single moment in history to sum up the essence and expression of the US empire, that would be it.”

Another fun fact- the first recorded drag ball was in 1869, so it wouldn’t be necessarily inaccurate to have Dracula rock up to a drag ball…
Fact: The earliest reliably dated use of the phrase “fucked up” appears in the court records of a US Navy court-martial case from 1863; the way the phrase is used suggests that its meaning was already well known at the time, but this is the first known printed record of it that we can confidently put a date to.
Additional fact: Bram Stoker’s Dracula is set in 1897.
Conclusion: It would not anachronistic for your Dracula fanfic to have a character describe the Count as a fucked up old man.

I'm putting a bunch of stuff up for auction to benefit some good causes -- and also to give a portion of what the art makes to the artists who gave or sold it to me, long ago. It seems unfair that their art was given away or sold for $150 a page if they were lucky and now goes for tens of thousands of dollars.
The New York Times thought it would be a story...

I realized I never posted these here on tumblr! 2020 did unspeakable things to my mind and body…I staggered away from lockdown with a whole pitch of how I would make an animated Cats adaptation. I got the whole thing up here *taps skull*—it would be Very Good. I can’t think about it too much lest I awaken my sleeping obsession…still want to finish Old Deut and Macavity one of these days.
Fun fact: The term "Jellicle Cat" is actually the cats’ mishearing of the term "Dear Little Cat" (this gives me much joy)

good morning to all you crash queens and motorbabies, people who have been reeducated, Zone Five fun fair attendees, juvee halls, seemingly omniscient radio hosts, pornodroids who are recklessly in love, girls who power things near them, halfburied robot saviours, mask-collecting psychpomps, people who died and got better, rebels more comitted to their aesthetic than their aim, depressed djs, lone men in a suit in the desert, recent city escapees, women with so much rage their children have powers, jet star, people who travel exclusively by rollerskates, those preaching as they rust in the streets, anyone who goes to hyper thrust open mic, people who have been stuck in Zone Three when it disappears, mad gear and of course, the missile kid

Roman-era silver 'toilet spoon' discovered in Wales
Tumblr media
A Roman-era silver "toilet spoon" discovered by a metal detectorist in the U.K. has been declared a "treasure" by experts.
Valentinas Avdejevas made the peculiar finding in 2020 while exploring Vale of Glamorgan, a county in Wales. He surrendered the metal artifact to the Portable Antiquities Scheme for Wales, a local authority that works directly with metal detectorists who have unearthed artifacts. The utensil is currently in the possession of Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales, according to a statement.
The narrow silver spoon (also known as a Roman ligula) contains a shallow, circular bowl attached to a thin, bent handle and would have been used to scoop out cosmetics and perfume from long-necked bottles. Read more.

Witchfucker Fact #5
How to tell the difference between a crow and a raven:
Crows - work in packs, don't like to stray from the group, commonly see in V formations, very intelligent but use this skill about bottles of water rocks and projectiles, visual pattern is usually all white except for facial markings, can be recognized by their unique call of a radio walkie beeping on standby mode, pulling off their masks kills them when the sun is up- mixed reports on this birding strategy at night
Ravens - that's not a raven, you saw a raven? nah wasn't one, why don't you trust me huh, i mean you can obviously tell from the lack of-, come on, you didn't actually think She'd send out an ear to listen to you of all killjoys

I’m so deeply upset by how much Cats (2019) messed up the characterisation and performance of the characters and the show itself.
Cats is one of my favourite shows of all time, and a massive part of that comes from the overwhelming whimsy and playfulness of the entire thing. The movie took such a magical, dreamy show and turned it into a corporate nightmare.
Rebel Wilson and James Corden are some of the worst casting choices I have ever seen in a movie adaptation. Playing such genuine roles for gags took all the life and respect from them.
I have many many more things to say but to keep it brief, they have sucked the life, joy, and whimsical fun out of a show built purely on those three concepts.
