the grief is not in the paying for content. the grief is in the death of altruistic creativity happening before our very eyes. is it not enough to create just for the euphoria of it all

like genuinely what is the point of consuming media if everything you get attached to is put behind a paywall, censored, watered down for advertisers, drawn out for profit until it's overdone and nothing like what it began as, and/or flat-out cancelled mid-story. what is the point. why are we supposed to want this
