it's okay if you aren't writing right now. it's okay not to be online. it's okay to take breaks. this is a hobby, not a job, and you should spend your time however you want to, not how others may want you to. don't stress yourself over not being around enough; it doesn't matter if you take days, weeks, or even months — it's okay to do things the way it works best for you. and if that means taking longer to reply, then so be it. people are usually far more understanding than we give them credit for.

ㅤㅤFriendly? Surely she must be oblivious. RUNAWAY knew well enough that he is not a 'friendly' man... Unless he mistook what she said.

ㅤㅤHe bit his tongue and nodded at her question. Now, the painter is not one to be... 'nice'. He used to, of course, but life can surely throw lemons at you. But to her, he found it difficult to stay rude.

ㅤㅤ"Yes. Why? Is that odd?"

ㅤㅤBut seeing that she agreed, he relaxed, nodding as they trudged on to the forest.

ㅤㅤThe soft crunching of the leaves echoed as he listened to her, reminiscing on her behavior as it reminded him of back then. Back then times were easier, simpler... And maybe bittersweet.

ㅤㅤ... How ironic.

ㅤㅤ"... I don't mind," he said, sighing. "Compensation isn't necessary. I wasn't looking where I was heading, so part of it is also my fault."

ㅤㅤ"So as long you remain safe, that's enough."

ㅤㅤHow strange. The original painter wouldn't express himself to care, but this man... he seems to care, even for a stranger. And maybe, he also saw it as odd himself.

ㅤㅤFor now, he's curious about the manor she spoke of. Was it the same as the village he lived in? Do they worship a God? Are the hunters those that keep them in line?

ㅤㅤ"Speaking of... You've mentioned these hunters. What are they? I haven't seen any here in my entire life, nor have I heard of their existence till now."

ㅤㅤThere were things that RUNAWAY had to focus on. Maybe it was something he can't exactly avoid, but nightfall was fast approaching... And he knew that it wouldn't be long till he comes around.

ㅤㅤSo here he was, trying his best to get materials outside of the village and into the forest. He's quite aware of the consequences should someone find out that he had left, but everyone was clearly wrapped around his finger to even give a damn.

ㅤㅤIn the midst of his exploration, however... He had the unfortunate case of bumping into someone who was walking off to God knows where.

ㅤㅤ"Ah—!"

ㅤㅤHe dropped the ingredients he was gathering, making him grimace. Those are going to need to be dealt with, he thinks, watching as some of them seem to crack upon the harsh impact.

ㅤㅤHe raised his head to see who it was that bumped into him, his eyes narrowing to see it was a stranger. One that looked like the gardener that died in his old village.

ㅤㅤ"... who are you? And what are you doing out here?"
