I love hualian’s dynamic, because on the surface it seems like a typical sunshine/sunshine protector trope where the sunshine character just flounces around while the protector kills everyone. But then you keep reading, and it turns out that the sunshine character is actually an extremely powerful fighter, and the sunshine protector is just there to glare at people and occasionally prevent sunshine from stabbing himself to keep someone else from experiencing a minor inconvenience

The funniest interaction in svsss is still when Shen Qingqiu was saving Liu Qingge in the caves and all he kept thinking about was: "I imagined this guy would be all rugged and ugly but I guess his sister is a 10 so why should he be any less? Damn, he's so fine.... with that jawline and the nose and the silky hair... If I were a woman I'd be bouncing on him silly style. Without question. No homo tho! :)" And then just moved on with his day???

people are mad at fengqing for not being okay with hualian but like. think about their relationship from their perspective imagine your childhood friend ascends again for the 3rd time. you do a quick lil mission together and he suddenly comes across The Devil Himself who challenged you a few hundred years ago but you declined and he ended up killing a bunch of your coworkers. you warn him because, again, he's literally The Devil Himself but your friend is too busy twirling his hair and kicking his feet to actually consider your words. anyways flash forward a few weeks after and he now drags said Devil Himself with him everywhere he goes and every time you point it out the fucker asks if he can kill you and your friend politely explains that he was just a little silly when he fought the heavens (and won)
