hey guys
how to make your furby skin stay on, but still be easily removable
without zip ties!!
so you can clean it and swap between skins easily
this is worded badly but keep reading to get what i mean
a tutorial from me and the boys; keith and maurice

first what you will need:
your child(ren)
elastic cord/ribbon - get more than you think you’ll need to make it easier to tie, you may want a colour that matches your furb, or different thicknesses
a curved needle or large/embroidery needle (optional but advised)
some safety pins - various sizes (optional but convenient)

first you’re going to want to thread your needle/pin - curved needles make in easier to put through as they have larger wholes mostly but a safety pin works as a good alternative
you don’t want to tie a knot in the end or double up as you would using regular thread since this is elastic- i prefer the thicker ribbon type because it’s the same width as the original zip tie and has more stretch to it so it stays on better, frays less and seems more durable (i just used what i found in my house so just use anything i guess

thread your elastic through - i like to bunch up the material and pull it through and repeat - how you would put a cord back into a hoodie i guess,, be careful not to stab the needle through that fabric or stab yourself, you can push the needle bach in the furb with a thimble or something

now you’re going to want to secure your elastic (in a way easy to undo so you can alter/adjust it) so you can try it on the furb
i recommend just safety pinning it in place through the fabric (on both sides) or just safety pin the cords together - i did keith (black) first and knotted it which was not the best idea since it’s difficult to undo if the size is wrong but it still works

try it on, it should be pretty easy to stretch over the body yet tight enough to hold it in place - like tying up your hair is should feel secure but able to stretch off again..?? feel free to adjust the elastic to fit nicely
please excuse that maurice is nakey
maurice is a baby and i couldn’t be bothered to fiddle with the screws on his face plate so i put the band on upside down however this is pretty hard tbh

knot your elastic, it should look a little bit like this a scrunchie when you take it off
after securely tying the elastic you can now cut off the excess elastic

i chose to tuck the knot under as i dressed the boys and you can sew the sides of the fabric back together but i didn’t because i did it at 3am
✨now you can now wash and de-skin your furbs with ease and without needing new zip ties every time✨
