"sera morgan." she reaches out with her own gloved hand, a chill still manages to seep through despite the glove's protection. "soldier, first class, and just between you and me?" hand still holding onto his own. "also local lab rat." finally letting go she steps back, arms crossed. "so welcome to the club, i guess."

"I suppose that makes sense." He says quietly, intense eyes gazing at her and taking in details, observing her posture and the tone in her voice. He adjusts slightly on his feet, the replica blade on his back heavier than the original, not as balanced with its weight but he'd made it work. True to his clone aspects he was near identical to Cloud, were it not for his eyes and the limb he currently had hidden away.

"Others? Are there others like me? I had hoped I didn't do that horribly in the tests that Hojo would go so far." He grumbles slightly, gaze flickering down to the floor, as if he wished to carve a hole into it with the faint rage shimmering within. Quickly does it vanish as he looks back at her. "Strife. You are?" Offering an extended gloved hand.

being a 1st CLASS, a set of duties and other responsibilities were stacked upon her shoulders the moment they gave her that promotion⸺one of his responsibilities was to check on the 2nds and 3rds, keep an eye out for any signs of degradation and whatnot. despite what the propaganda stated, being a SOLDIER wasn't exactly easy, both physically and mentally, you're put on a pedestal and that messes with anyone's head.

tifa lockhart, recently promoted to 3rd and honestly⸺she doesn't say it out loud⸺one of her favorites. there's just something about the bright and determined attitude that brings a bit of warmth to her chest. still, even with an attitude like that, the weight of being a SOLDIER hits everyone regardless.

the older brunette didn't say anything at first, instead she sits herself down beside the younger woman, letting her legs dangle over the rooftop edge. "it's a scary thought, being alone." sera started off, looking towards the horizon. "i had similar thoughts as well for a while, a rather long time perhaps⸺" she briefly admits. "⸺but things will change, those thoughts will eventually pass or quiet down enough that you can spend a day without it loudly echoing inside your head."

comforting isn't her best, but she tries. "besides, you won't be alone around here for long." she gives the young SOLDIER a friendly nudge and looks over at her with a gentle smile. "there's me for one, can't get rid of me now, lockhart. we're friends now, you and i." she holds out her gloved hand. "and friends stick together."

"and yet, i've seen you before." or rather his face, sera is privvy to a certain amount of information and has seen the type of shit that shinra is capable of, this is no exception. fucking hojo, the brunette thought to herself as she stared down at the blonde, arms crossed in front of her chest. what have you done?

"or maybe i'm just thinking about another blonde guy with mako eyes, who knows." she shrugs, eyes briefly looking away to glance in the direction of the observation deck, shields up of course⸺can't risk a potential sword or claw to the face. "you all have a tendency to look alike."

sera constantly wearing gloves cause she knows how cold her hands can be and only takes them off for certain situations like if she's being examined by scientists, sleeping, etc

"heard you're heading out a mission in a couple of days." the brunette commented as she approached the younger man in one of the few gyms that were opened to anyone regardless of rank. "heading somewhere in the middle of nowhere or something, nibelheim was it?"

she leans against the wall, watching her fellow SOLDIER do his usual workout. "my little birds also told me that sephiroth is also going, must be pretty big if he's going along." it would do him some good to get out from midgar, have a bit of that fresh air that isn't hinted with a scent of smog and mako. "so what's the tea, zack?"

"so why hojo of all people?" man is creepy enough as it is, mix in delusions of grandeur and a superiority complex, then you get an individual that you can only describe as 'hojo'. "i didn't think he even does friends." does he even know what friends are? as far as she had seen and experienced, the man often keeps to himself and tends to ignore the people around him unless they have caught his attention.

which is not exactly a good thing. she's dealt enough with him to keep as far away as possible. "man is not exactly a social person, pretty sure his idea of a good time is cutting people open."

⸺ 1979. sera is born and she is originally designated subject zero until she was given a name by her selected adoptive parents.

⸺ 1981. starts to display her cryokinetic abilities and undergoes several rounds of tests and examinations before a training regimen is designed for her.

⸺ 1981-1983. is kept under strict supervision and has a room in the research and development while she learns how to control her powers. to disguise her absence, her parents stated that she has gotten severely ill and is undergoing treatment within the medical division at shinra hq.

⸺ 1987. starts undergoing VR training to become SOLDIER.

⸺ 1992. is promoted to SOLDIER - THIRD CLASS.

⸺ 1994. gets promoted to SECOND CLASS.

⸺ 1995. finally promoted to FIRST CLASS. her promotion is mainly for the fact that they want to put her out on the front lines during the war.

⸺ 1995-0001. fights during the war against wutai, develops a reputation while on the battlefield and is involved ( unwillingly, when do shinra ask for permission or opinions? ) with a lot of propaganda.

⸺ 0001-0007. continues work for shinra until shit starts happening in midgar.

to most people, it looks like sera just carries the typical brand of sword made by shinra. it has no distinct markings or any other customizations to make it look like hers specifically. some tend to find it unusual, especially for one as high rank as she is, she can ask for any specifications yet she just chose something so common and rather plain?

that isn't the case. in truth, she does have her own sword but the thing is, sera rarely brings it out whenever she fights. most of the time she doesn't take her fights seriously enough to bring it out, so she just uses the typical sword from shinra unless she finds an opponent that's worth her time and energy.

sera's sword is actually made out of ice entirely and because it's made of the ice she creates, the blade's durability often rivals some of the best blades out there. also, since it's made out of ice, sera doesn't even need to use her hands in order to wield it and because of the material, she can create as many as she wants. there are seams along the blade where it can split apart into many pieces that she can control and manipulate, either to use as projectiles or function as a whip sword.

her typical tactic is to create several and leave them around the battlefield, no one else would be able to use them anyways as they're so cold to the touch, the attempted user would suffer severe frostbite. her other reason for making several is that the swords would also help lower the surrounding temperature down to below zero, even in hot weather/environments.
