wills dream hannibal in shiizakana basically telling him, bc you don’t allow yourself to love me, you haven’t seen the best in me, allowing the best in me to become real is SO crazy. even as will tries to hate hannibal and reduce him to a monster, he recognizes in his own head that it’s his own dehumanization of hannibal that renders hannibal absolutely emotionless, a mere beast with endlessly unsated bloodlust. if will allowed himself to love hannibal, he would understand that hannibal can very much be driven by love and desire the same as anyone else. hannibal ultimately proves this to him in mizumono, saying see? now do you see that i have done all of this because i love you? and everything i do after this is because i love you and because you have hurt me in such a human way, a bloodless but cruel and vicious way? you have broken my heart. the most human thing that can happen to anyone.

Okay so with the whole PJO/Epic crossover thing I’ve seen quite a bit of “Percabeth is Odypen reincarnated” stuff but they all seem to go by Percy being Odysseus and Annabeth being Penelope, when really I think it’s the other way around. Annabeth’s fatal flaw is hubris. She’d be the type to tell the cyclops her real name if she didn’t already know how badly it ended for Odysseus. She’s connected with Athena, she’s a warrior of the mind. Percy is Penelope because his flaw is loyalty. He would wait 20 years for Annabeth, never once questioning if she was dead, and do everything within his power to hold everyone else off until she came back to him.

"you were there with him, and you let those words come out of his mouth" tells so much about what jack thinks of will. you expect him to get onto will for saying such a thing, but its hannibal he admonishes for will's words. he doesn't see him as responsible for his own actions, but the people around him are. you failed to control him, to predict him. you allowed him to speak, you allowed him to make a mistake. as if he doesnt know better without the tense grip of someone else's hand. you shouldnt have let him misbehave

and hannibal's intentions with will are made obvious by his response. i trust him to speak for himself. i see his autonomy and i want to relish in it. his existence is not within what i allow, i only wish to witness him, experience him. truthfully and untethered. hannibal is overjoyed at will's words, because they are honest. i will guide him, not to control him, but to free him from the shackles placed upon by others, and himself. to be whatever he truly is

why is sansa stark hating so common. like she's a little girl. she's terrified, she's trapped, she's being handed from one pedophile to the next, she saw her dad's head get cut off, she's alone, all her siblings are dead, her mom is dead, she's 11 years old, she's supposed to be making rubber band loom bracelets and listening to one direction, she's just a kid. all the most evil characters in the book hate her for no reason other than she's ned's kid. she's also a very smart, polite, and kind girl. she's preppy in the first book, but her greatest sin is what? being a girl? being a little girl? being a bit snooty (which she quickly gets beaten out of her anyway)? yall are horrible

my cat hates taking his pills. the only way we can get him to eat them is to turn it into an elaborate pantomime - we take the packet out of the cupboard slowly and hold it up, saying “oh!! what’s this? what’s this? a TREAT? a TREAT for louis????” while making surprised faces. we offer him a pill… then, before he has a chance to sniff it, we wag our fingers at him and replace it in the packet so it becomes a Tantalising Forbidden Mystery. we continue doing this until he’s so confused and excited that he will eat the pill as fast as possible, just so he can find out what it is before we can take it away from him again. as soon as he’s eaten it he looks utterly disappointed and betrayed, like a child who just ate a delicious sweet only to find it was a chocolate-coated brussels sprout. it never gets old

what I love about catelyn’s characterization is that she isn’t everyone’s mother. she refuses to treat jon like one of her own. she doesn’t have any “motherly instincts” towards theon. even with brienne, she connects with her on more of a woman to woman level than through some mother-daughter dynamic. she never feels obligated to play the angelic “mother to all” figure.

but that’s the best part about her journey as a mother—it’s kind of messy. she has a favorite child, she’s forced to choose between her kids, she actively resents a motherless boy, she dislikes the hostage child living in her home. like yeah catelyn’s love for her children is beautiful and “pure” or whatever, but it also makes her cruel, selfish, impulsive, ruthless, even vengeful.

tbh catelyn’s sense of motherhood is just so unapologetically human, so refreshingly honest. she may be a mother, but there’s nothing romantic or intuitive or easy about it. catelyn stark loves her children, but it’s not that simple.
