The thing that's wild to me is the trans movement would have sooo many more allies if they were just... normal about it all lmao. Like 8 years ago, everyone was a trans ally. I was a trans ally. You were a trans ally. We were all trans allies 8 years ago. They could've taken a moment 8 years ago to say "okay here's some universal definitions and goals. Let's be consistent and normal." That would've been fine.
Instead, the movement is now the Alok Lia Thomas Andrea Long Chu puberty blockers child transition free for all.
So people who were once trans allies are now moving on and supporting other more important and coherent social movements.

things homophobes who deny being homophobes say:
sexuality isn’t black and white
gender and sexuality are so complicated
you can have your “preferences”
you don’t fall in love based on genitals
love is more complex than that
sexuality and gender can’t be put in boxes or follow rules
your understanding of sexuality is reductive/creepy
why are you so fixated on genitals?
the bottom line of all these is the same: they do not believe that homosexuality is real or exists. even if they do begrudgingly accept you as you are it is with the condition that you take no joy or pride in your sexuality and that you label it as a “preference” instead

"What if your mother aborted you?" What if your mother was forced to give birth to you and it was horrifying and traumatic for her? Is that what you want?
