My opinion on Aradia is funny because when she was Aradia-Bot I couldn't give two fucks about her but after she god tiers she immediately jumps to one of my favorite trolls.
She just becomes insane, stares at the camera constantly, longs for random bullshit to happen and it is absolutely wonderful!!!
We need more insane Aradia appreciation methinks.

Homestuck fans do this constantly when discussing Hussie to the point they don't even realise the reason Homestuck has so many "trans coded characters" is maybe because it was written by a closeted trans person/egg and the story consists of a bunch of self inserts.
there's weird viciously transmisogynistic phenomenon I see sometimes that I can only describe as edgelordjacketing, where someone assumes a trans woman is actually a cis man pretending to be trans as an edgy bit, usually because she somehow failed to live up the accusers standard of womanhood, or even just happened to upset them

Something interesting I noticed when rewatching Terezi: Remem8er

Vriska has trollian when we see her as a kid, but at the start of hivebent Trollian was only just released right before the trolls sburb session.
The answer? Doc Scratch had just given Vriska much earlier access to trollian to make communication with her easier. This also implies that Doc had been manipulating Vriska long before we actually see them interact.
Just yet another reason to feel bad for young Vriska incase we needed anymore. Girl had no opportunities to form her own sense of self with Doc scratch, mindfangs journal and her lusus as her primary influences in her early childhood.

Ive edited this post to say that it is shorter then the harry potters series since I think thats a more fair comparison that people can understand. Like it literally is only the length of a book series but people act like it is completely impossible to get into.
I just saw someome try to say it was elitism to say that to be a homestuck fan you need to actually read homestuck instead of just reading synopsis videos?!?!? No wonder there is so much misinformation in the fandom.
Like there reasoning was that "homestuck is too big and intimidating for me to get into" but it really isn't? The fact homestuck has this reputation as being the "super long webcomic" has irreparably damaged public perception of it because while yes it is "long" if you view it like you would a single book, it is shorter then the harry potter series!!!! Its perception and this super daunting and esoteric piece of media scares so many people away because they think "it won't make sense" when everything DOES make perfect sense when you actually read it. Hussie is very good at making all of the shenanigens of Homestuck understandable to the reader.
On the off chance someone who hasn't read homestuck sees this post, please don't be scared of it, it is worth experiencing.

I wonder if the homestuck team has anything planned for 612. I doubt it would be an update considering it has only been 2 months but I still wonder if there will be something.

I am of the belief that many "enemy to lovers" situations would be healthier if they just were in a kismesis instead of turning it into love tbh.

Eridan fans annoy me to no end (when they act like he is defendable in canon)
Defending Eridan is like looking at a 13 year old andrew tate fan who constabtly harrasses women and feeling bad for him because "oh he is being manipulated by manosphere content" meanwhile you say absolutely nothing about the people he harasses (to be fair I see this irl far too often)
Feferi, they could never make me hate you.

the first rule of Homestuck fandom is that no one has a correct opinion about Vriska Serket
I'm not saying it's impossible, just that mo one's done it yet

The homestuck website is still down so here are some alternatives
(Mainly making this post to easily direct people where to read it)
The Unofficial Homestuck Collection
By far the best way to experience the comic in its original form but can only be used on PC. (However someone made a method to run it on mobile here but I cannot attest to how good this method is)
MSPA To Go
Mirror of the old MSPA site designed to work best on mobile. It however does not have the epilogues. (You can however read the epilogues via the next option)
Homestuck Epilogue Ebook
Best way to read the homestuck epilogues on mobile currently IF you can find a ereader app that properly supports colour text. I personally have been using this EPUB reader website with my firefox set to "desktop site" and it words like a charm. It has a few formatting issues (namely a few lines left uncolored) but othee then that it works like a charm.
I am leaving this pinned to my profile for the forseeable future so enjoy.

Actually posting this suddenly made me think about Dirk and his splinters and how homestuck is pretty much made up Hussies own splinters intermingling in the plot. When you take this into account, Dirks feelings about Lil Hal take in some new context about the fact that it could be representative of how Hussie might've felt seeing herself reflected in her work so much.
Something we've been turning over in our heads is that LE isn't just a metaphor for patriarchy, he's also specifically a metaphor for the way that patriarchy shapes, defines, limits, and directs the kinds of stories we can tell. And by making Caliborn's ascension pretty directly AH's fault, Hussie is sort of saying "it's my fault that misogyny exists in my work, even if I am projecting that into the form of a fucked up little guy, even if it's ultimately because of cultural forces beyond my personal control, it's still my responsibility."

To add onto your last point, almost every character is a self insert on some level. Hussie touches on his idea of this in decent depth in the author notes. In them he touches on the fact that inherently every character and author creates will inherently be coming from a part of themselves. Writers can't just pull inspiration from thin air and there is an inherent bias that comes from your own lived experience when you write something. To quote Hussie himself "In a way, all characters with significant roles can be seen as an author mouthpiece, representing a certain splinter of the author's perspective."
So I think Hussie just embraced that to a bit more of an extreme? I think Lord English is just her putting what they believe their worst traits as a character. Hussie describes Lord English as a "vessel of authorial wrath" which is interesting.
It is very interesting wheb you take into account that Vriska was originally designed as a quote "avatar of authorial scorn for ones own creation". An avatar to move the story forward, push characters forward but in a way to leads many people to ask "why does the author hate this character so much" when bad things happen to someone (in this case usually Tavros). But it isn't hate, the story does need to move forward after all, characters need to go through tough times to be able to improve and get better and Vriska basically attempts to improve people the same way an author would, with varying levels of success.
In short yes Vriska is a self insert (though bassicly everyone is)
Something we've been turning over in our heads is that LE isn't just a metaphor for patriarchy, he's also specifically a metaphor for the way that patriarchy shapes, defines, limits, and directs the kinds of stories we can tell.

This is part of why I believe act 6 is as disliked as it is, people consumed homestuck while ignoring all themes and metaphors and then when act 6 focuses more on that and characters instead of plot like in act 5 act 2.
Anyway as my partner says:
"Homestuck fans don't know how to read"
homestuck is great about subliminal messages themes and metaphors but i think is allergic to saying anything outright, like most of anything to do with sexuality and gender stuff is not said outright, most characters in homestuck have a facade theyre keeping up that in some cases isnt even understood to be a facade by the readers, if the characters dont specifically say how theyre feeling with a slash srs at the end some readers just cant put it together.. which is like, obviously ok no one is obligated to fully understand whatever media, it just makes me sad to see "homestuck was badly written" as a take instead of understanding that homestuck was just written in a diffrent way that youre used to a story being written (tis a webcomic)
all this and + sometimes the symbolism is spoonfed but the fans didnt read those parts of the comic. whoops
