UAccessibility
As Chief Technology Officer of UAccessibility, I would like to share our vision for improving urban accessibility through Artificial Intelligence (AI). We plan to use Big Data and machine learning to create smarter, more inclusive cities. Here is how we plan to implement this vision.
Our system will use a network of sensors and cameras to collect real-time data on traffic flow, pedestrian movement, and accessible pathways. This data will be processed using neural networks, which are inspired by the human brain and excel at recognizing patterns (Hoskins, 2025). The application of AI will identify issues like blocked sidewalks, malfunctioning elevators, and road closures. This data collection will help ensure that accessibility gaps are quickly addressed.
The use of AI in this system will be to take on both supervised and unsupervised learning. Supervised learning will allow the system to recognize accessibility issues whereas unsupervised learning would help reveal hidden areas that require improvement (Habassis, as cited in Hoskins, 2025). For example, AI might learn that a particular intersection becomes difficult to navigate during peak hours and recommend adjustments.
Also, we would like to experiment with using real-time user assistance through a mobile app. This mobile app will provide real-time updates on accessible routes and potential obstacles, guiding users toward barrier-free pathways. For example, Waze is an application that provides this information for drivers to quickly and safely reach their destination. Similarly, our new mobile app will provide this functionality across all forms of transportation. We aim to leverage AI driven predictive analytics, the app will forecast potential accessibility challenges by analyzing real time and historical data. Additionally, user-generated reports will enhance the system’s accuracy by continuously refining its predictive models (Hoskins, 2025).
This approach improves individual mobility and supports city planners in making informed, data-driven decisions to improve overall urban accessibility over time (Hoskins, 2025). By combining Big Data and AI, UAccessibility aims to make cities more accessible and responsive to the diverse mobility needs of everyone.

My experience with Nova Cybersecurity Lab Game
My experience playing the Nova Cybersecurity Lab Game reinforced my understanding of phishing, information security, and network security through interactive challenges. One key concept demonstrated in the game was phishing. The Social Engineering Challenge required me to identify suspicious emails, websites, and phone calls, reinforcing how cybercriminals attempt to deceive users into revealing personal information. By analyzing email addresses, checking URLs for "https://," and recognizing generic greetings, I became more aware of common phishing tactics. Information security was another concept highlighted in the game. The Password-Cracking Challenge demonstrated how attackers attempt to crack weak passwords and emphasized the importance of using unique and complex passwords for different accounts. The game reinforced best practices for password security, including using long, random sequences of numbers, letters, and symbols. Lastly, network security was covered in the Network Cyber Battles challenge, where I used resources to buy cyber defenses and protect a company against cyber attacks. This challenge provided great insight into the different types of cyber threats businesses face and how protective measures, such as firewalls and security protocols, can help defend against them. Overall, the game was a very interactive and engaging way to apply cybersecurity concepts and raise awareness of digital threats and protection strategies.

The Info-Flood!
Disinformation: "Plandemic" and COVID-19 Falsehoods
Dis-information refers to deliberately false information created to mislead. A prime example is the viral video Plandemic, which falsely claimed COVID-19 was engineered and vaccines were harmful. This video was designed to erode trust in public health institutions. Disinformation spreads rapidly due to social media algorithms prioritizing engagement over accuracy. Identifying disinformation requires verifying sources, cross-checking claims with reputable organizations like WHO or CDC, and being skeptical of emotionally charged content. The Plandemic case illustrates how falsehoods can have serious consequences, influencing public perception and fueling vaccine hesitancy.

Misinformation: Misleading Airline Photo
Mis-information is false information shared without the intent to deceive. A widely circulated 2019 photo appeared to show passengers seated in backless airline seats, suggesting unsafe conditions. However, the passengers were moved before takeoff. This example aligns with the definition of misinformation, incorrect information spread by individuals who believe it to be true. Since misinformation lacks harmful intent, an attentive reader can identify it by checking the original source, verifying details, and looking for fact-checking articles. Social media accelerates the spread of misinformation, reinforcing the need for critical media literacy skills to prevent misleading narratives from taking hold.

Mal-information: Hillary Clinton’s Leaked Emails
Mal-information involves sharing true information with harmful intent. A key example is the release of Hillary Clinton’s private emails during the 2016 U.S. election. Though the emails were real, their strategic release aimed to damage her reputation and sway public opinion. This highlights how malinformation is particularly dangerous in political contexts, as it can erode trust in institutions and manipulate public perception. Recognizing malinformation requires evaluating the motives behind information leaks. Fact-checking alone is insufficient, people should consider the context and timing of the release to determine whether the information is being used to cause harm.

Engagement & Expression: Social Media Wins and Misses
Social media is a dynamic space for self-expression and engagement, but effective use relies on adhering to best practices. Drawing on the precepts of social media best practice like interactivity and self-presentation, this blog post examines two examples of social media communication to assess their alignment with these principles.
Satirical Commentary
Tumblr media
The first post, by “The Serfs,” features an image of Mark Zuckerberg in sunglasses, paired with a satirical caption referencing a Pulitzer-worthy headline. The article title humorously critiques powerful figures: “I knew one day I’d have to watch powerful men burn the world down – I just didn’t expect them to be such losers.”
This post effectively utilizes interactivity by leveraging humor and relatability to provoke engagement. The witty caption invites readers to reflect and potentially comment, share, or interact with the content, aligning with the concept of mass-self communication. However, it stops short of providing a clear call to action or fostering deeper multi-directional communication, which would encourage richer audience interaction. From a self-presentation perspective, the post reinforces “The Serfs” as a brand rooted in satire and critical commentary on societal issues. This reflects Goffman’s idea that individuals and brands tailor their personas to suit specific audiences.
Celebrating Style Diversity
Tumblr media
The second post, different in approach from the first, features multiple images of older men of various races, paired with a thoughtful caption challenging societal norms: “One of the reasons why I don't conflate having a fit body with good style is because half the men I admire in terms of style are not built like Adonis...” The caption highlights Italian tailors, Japanese clothiers, and historic figures, blending personal opinion with a celebration of diversity.
This post exemplifies stronger interactivity by encouraging viewers to rethink societal standards of style and share their perspectives, fostering multi-directional communication. Additionally, the thoughtful curation of images and insights supports a polished and authentic self-presentation. By showcasing diverse representations, the post embodies social media best practices emphasizing inclusivity, originality, and relatability in crafting an online persona.
Both posts showcase aspects of social media best practices but also highlight areas for improvement. The first post’s humor and critique resonate with its audience but lack explicit opportunities for interaction. In contrast, the second post demonstrates a richer alignment with multi-directional communication and self-presentation by sparking meaningful conversations and showcasing thoughtful curation.
