“O human blindness! How long, how long before this dust will be removed from our eyes! Even though among ourselves the dust doesn’t seem to be capable of blinding us completely, I see some specks, some tiny pebbles that if we allow them to increase will be enough to do us great harm. On the contrary, for the love of God, Sisters, let us benefit by these faults so as to know our misery, and they will give us clearer vision.”
— Teresa of Avila, The Interior Castle

There’s something about love
It’s not always clear. Hardly is it written out in neon, flashing lights. Love is an argument, a lingering look, the toleration of the smell of coffee breath, tears, an unanswered phone call and the voicemail left in its place, a wink, laughter that devours your whole body because words won’t suffice, the melody played just for you because it sounds just like the song your soul sings, the hard and heartbreaking and hurtful truth. Usually love is words left unsaid. Usually love is given and not received. That’s why love is selfless. Love is everywhere, but we don’t realize how much of it is being thrown at us. Too often, love falls through the cracks of the heart that love creates.

I have become so blind to the minutia.
The minutia that makes up of life—the subconscious, the forgettable, the fleeting. Search with your eyes, yearn with your ears, grasp with your fingertips at every fleck of life.
Joy is the small and the silent and the helpless and the passing.
Notice the joy in all that is life.

To find God, you must look with all your heart. To remain present to God, you must remain present to your heart. To hear His voice, you must listen with all your heart. To love Him, you must love with all your heart. You cannot be the person God meant you to be, and you cannot live the life He meant you to live, unless you live from the heart || John Eldredge
