hi rian!! how are you? i have a quick question - i got a letter from a college and a black woman on the inside was saying that "race didn't exist" and how everything is a fake social construct. i am unsure of what to think, and i was wondering if you could provide some insight or have some thoughts on people that deny race? thank you, i love you!! have a beautiful day!

Race is a social construct that exists because we have to navigate within the confines of this social construct. Just because it’s a social construct doesn’t invalidate it lol. It’s a social construct that resulted in the enslavement of a population of people so it doesn’t matter that it “doesn’t literally or scientifically (or whatever) exist”– it exists because we’re expected to navigate within the structure of it.
