When you get super close to someone to where you idolize them, you can make them feel as if they aren’t their own person. You need them and sometimes it’s out of desperation but it’s idolatry because we weren’t created to see each other for what we can fulfill in each other’s life. We’re to look to Jesus for that, not to people.

Please, don’t do that to people. Learn to respect them and honor them for who God says they are instead of because you have a need.
