Edmund White (January 13, 1940 - June 3, 2025) was a groundbreaking American novelist, memoirist, playwright, biographer, and essayist. White was present at the Stonewall Inn in 1969 when the Stonewall uprising began. He later wrote, "Ours may have been the first funny revolution." “When someone shouted 'Gay is good' in imitation of “Black is beautiful, we all laughed... Then I caught myself foolishly imagining that gays might someday constitute a community rather than a diagnosis". Both gay and an atheist, though he was reared as a Christian Scientist. He discovered he was HIV-positive in 1985. However, he was a "non-progressor", one of the small percentage of cases that have not led to AIDS. He was in a long-term open relationship with the American writer Michael Carroll, living with him from 1995 onward. They married in November 2013. White died at his home in Manhattan, New York, on June 3, 2025, at the age of 85. (Source: Wikipedia/

Jonathan Joss, an actor known for playing Chief Ken Hotate in the sitcom "Parks and Recreation" and for voicing John Redcorn in the animated sitcom "King of the Hill," was murdered on June 1, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 59.
Joss was reportedly shot and killed by a neighbor who had previously argued with Joss and his husband multiple times, allegedly targeting them for their sexual orientation. "Jonathan is my husband. He gave me more love in our time together than most people ever get. We were newlyweds. We picked Valentines Day.
We were in the process of looking for a trailer and planning our future," his husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, said on Facebook. "I was with him when he passed. I told him how much he was loved. To everyone who supported him, his fans, his friends, know that he valued you deeply. He saw you as family."
