Fishing for fish and surfing for waves. Life in SoCal. I decided to do something I've never done before and hop onto a jetty about a mile north of the Newport Beach Pier where I discovered a peaceful and yet very active scene. Hope you enjoy. The history of the jetties is a long and interesting one. Thanks to the jetties, boats and harbor crafts can sail freely and SAFELY back and forth between the peninsula bay, surfers can catch centralized waves, fisherman can fish, and dredging is minimized. A lot of lobbying, fundraising, advocacy, and finally a bond measure made these jetties possible. I've really been striving to make 2020 the year of mastering over many obstacles, where I work out all the kinks in my life so that nothing holds me back from God's direction and the work I set out to do; putting 2020 on it's head; giving God my all; becoming a better filmmaker and photographer, and even graphic designer to my greatest extent. Early this morning, the sun made it seem like it would be bright all day. I wish I was able to get closer, but I have not yet mastered the art of the quiet foot roll mastered by the Native Americans for generations before we arrived. My dad use to tell me about how much my grandmother LOVED desert plants. She was from Missouri, yeh see. I never understood why. I was from SoCal and preferred the roses and the rich greenery of England. Discovered this staircase on an alternate route to #FairviewParkCostaMesa and was fascinated by this running inlet. While it's good exercise to walk the bike up the stairs, this was very helpful for saving energy to build stamina later. Red skies are gonna clear up! I have tried to utilize the quarantine in many different ways and discovering my local OC parks have been one of them. Fairview/Talbert Park is 208 acres of trails, lakes, a hidden park, an EPIC view of Huntington Beach and many other refreshing surprises. I've been riding at least seven miles a visit! I've also been doing some research on this park and the other OC parks in the area and was inspired to produce some videos featuring their spacious and tranquil attributes and the surprisingly impressive backstory that went into their making. So, I discovered that Mile Square Park has an ARCHERY RANGE! Yesterday, I went to see @formulaone36 and his new bow. It's really elaborate. This is a compound bow...not too exciting of a name. It was invented in the '60s as a way to improve accuracy and weight balance. I guess it's like the RED Camera of archery bows. It was a very overcast day and the oppression from the California wildfires in pretty much every direction within the state personified the overcast sky. So @psychodotic, @formulaone36 and I made the best of it with new-normal precautions in place and a forward-thinking spirit. They caught the Katniss Everdeen bug and shot either too (ambitiously) high or right on the money. #goals.
