My name is Erin, I'm 25 years old and currently reside in Northwest Arkansas. I have been interested in Lolita fashion since middle school, but I only really started seriously wearing it around 2013. Not perfect by any means, but building my wardrobe and having fun ;) I am the founder of the Arkansas EGL group and am a crafty person by nature.

My coordinate for yesterday's meet. My comm went shopping and had lunch, and got mini makeovers at Sephora. It was so much fun! I also really love how this coord turned out, I just wish I had a different red cardigan/bolero

That feeling of when you order something and it is to be released a month or more from when you order it… And you’re in the mid-waiting period and it feels as if it will never come. ________________________________________________
I know i’ve been nagging about Day Dream Carnival since Day 1 of its release, but I’m sure many of you have that feeling of when the days are long, and your dress is nowhere near ready to arrive.
That feeling when you’re over the excitement of the initial purchase, and you just want your dress to arrive already… but it won’t be ready till September-October, oy.

And by the time you realize, the dress is sold out and impossible to find.

The Lolita Guide to: Spending a Day in NYC
So usually our community gets the occasional: “Hey guys I’m visiting from so and so! What are some cool Lolita Fashion related things to do in New York?” Well here is your up to date guide on really fun and cool places to stop by when you’re feeling frilly! GOOD MORNING~! Welcome to the city that never sleeps. So why were you asleep? Get your butt out of bed and get ready we all know it could take you up to an hour to get your bloomers on. Keep in mind that all of this traveling will rack up on on your metrocard. Sadly NY doesn’t do unlimited dailies anymore so I’ll try to be mindful with places that are within walking distance! First Stop! Breakfast! Alice’s Tea Cup is a whimsical little tea house on the upper east side of the city. It features teas and food inspired (more so named after) themes from you guessed it Alice in Wonderland. There are 3 chapters around the city but I believe that chapter 2 has a cuter setting. Especially upstairs near the windows! They are very sweet to those of us who love dressing up so thats always a plus.

Some of my personal favorite menu options include the Mad Hatter Tea set (For 2, unless you’re by yourself then go with the Nibble!) and Alice’s scones which is just a tea and scone set. The best teas in my opinion are Alice’s Tea and the Birthday Tea. With my FAVORITE scones being the Pumpkin (so soft and moist UGHHHHH) and the original. You can never go wrong with the original. Favorite sandwiches are “Lapsang souchong smoked chicken breast “ and “Curried chicken salad”, I also hear the smoked salmon is good but alas I can’t eat seafood! For all of my vegetarian girls and guys out there they do have veggie options! Just be sure to thoroughly check the menu.

Address: Alice’s Tea Cup Chapter II 156 E 64th St New York, NY 10021 Trains that can get you here: F train to Lexington Ave./63 St N Q R trains to Lexington Ave./59 St. 4 5 6 trains to 59 St. Hours: 8:00 am - 8:00 pm I hope you enjoyed your breakfast! Lets try to walk it off at the well known Kinokuniya Book Store There are 3 levels to the store with the magazines on the basement level. Here you can find Kera, Popteen, Larme, etc etc. Mooks, GLB’s, and style books! There is even a cute Rilakkuma and Hello Kitty section down here.

The middle floor has a selection of hardcover books, guides, cookbooks, just general things. You can find “Fruits” on this floor! The top floor is filled with all of your weeby needs with an array of manga, DVD’s, CD’s, and toys. There is even a cute cafe called Cafe Zaiya if you wanted to stop by and grab a quick snack or drink. The Matcha frappucino is amazing here!

Kinikuniya Bookstore x Cafe Zaiya 1073 6th Ave, New York, NY 10018 Hours: 10:00 am - 8:00 pm Trains that can get you here: B D M F trains to 42 Street Bryant Park N R Q W trains to 42nd Street Times Sq 4 5 6 trains to 42 Street Grand Central. After a lovely morning it’s time to shop until you drop down at Baby the Stars Shine Bright NYC x Tokyo Rebel : I dont have to explain this store! You know what needs to be done here Here is some general information! Tax is not charged on small items and socks. You can only try on a dress if you have a proper blouse on underneath. No photos are allowed within the store. And finally… happy shopping! Be sure to post you hauls for all of us!

Make sure to take your time and sift through all of the clothes! Don’t forget to see what is out on the mannequins on the display windows. Address: 158 Allen St, New York, NY 10002 Trains to get you here: F train to 2nd Ave. Hours: 1:00 - 8:00 pm Feeling famished? Like bubble tea? Well theres a really cute place nearby called Vivi Bubble Tea. The decor is pink with cute mascots all around! They even carry Macarons from MacarOn Cafe.
You can find the menu here ViVi Bubble Tea 205 Allen St Hours: 11:00 am - 11:00 pm Trains to get you here: F train to 2nd Ave. (Although its a very small walk from the baby store) What else can there possibly be to do? Well. MORE SHOPPING! From either Vivi or the Baby store you can make your way via walking over to Soho for shops such as: Uniqlo 546 Broadway, New York, NY 10012 Forever 21 568 Broadway, New York, NY 10012 Top Shop 478 Broadway, New York, NY 10013 Anna Sui 484 Broome St, New York, NY 10013 The list goes on and on. You can do a search on your own if you want to visit a specific shop, there are tons of places to stop by here. Did I mention I’m going to list a lot of eateries? Well you can either branch off two ways from this point. Eight Turn Crepe

This crepe shop is served japanese style! They have a range of crepes from savory to sweet. And trust me, everything is delicious. I wish I could eat both a savory and sweet but it really fills you. Good luck to those who try to eat both! My favorites are Lychee Valentine and Blueberry Cheesecake!

55 Spring St, New York, NY 10012 Hours: 11:00 am - 11:00 pm OR you can walk straight down to Laduree Soho Honestly the service here is nowhere near as perfect as it would be in Paris or Tokyo. So come for the desserts! Don’t stay for dinner. You can even buy some macarons here for later as they have the cutest to go boxes. I love all of the desserts here but the absolute best in my opinion is the St. Honore in Rose.

I do urge everyone not to limit themselves to one dessert. As you can see there are an array of sweets that are not only limited to macarons!

If you do decide to stay for tea I recommend the Marie Antoinette, as well as the Rose Milkshake! One last dessert that almost always makes me melt almost as much as it melts in your mouth is the Tarte Tatin. Oh my god. It is the most decadent and amazing item on this menu. Please stuff your face when you’re here just TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT. 398 W Broadway New York, NY 10012 Hours: 8:00 am - 11:00 pm Trains that go here: A C E trains to Spring St. N R trains to Prince St. 1 3 trains to Canal St. If you’re like me and you want to top it all off with a nice swift drink then you can end your frilly and cutesy night at Dylan’s Candy Bar
Go nuts here and induldge in EVEN MORE SWEETS. Head to the top floor for delicious sweet and candy inspire BOOZE. That’s all you need to know. By the way, get the Rainbow Shots, sit inside the giant cupcake. You’re welcome.

1011 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10065 Hours: 10:00 am - 10:00 pm M-Th 10:00 am - 11:00 pm F-Sat Trains that get you here: N Q R trains to Lexington Ave. 59th Street 4 5 6 trains to 59th Street F train to Lexington Ave./ 63rd Street It’s late and you’re in new york! Go exploring! It’s the city that never sleeps so I hope you enjoy the rest of your night and stay in New York. If you have any questions in regards to locations to visit, meetups or wanting to have a meetup during your stay don’t hesitate to join the New York Lolita Comm and post! (We only add those who have proof of having lolita fashion interests) Here is a list of shops that are great to try and explore to! Food and Tea: Harney and Sons Bosie Tea Parlour Tea and Sympathy Lady Mendl’s King’s Carriage Podunk Rose House Kenka Ramen Miso-ya Go Go Curry Curry-Ya Magnolia Bakery General Shopping: Patricia Fields Trash and Vaudeville Toy Tokyo Search and Destroy Book Off Sightseeing: Metropolitan Museum Museum at FIT MoMA Brooklyn Museum Brooklyn Botanical Garden New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx Meow Parlour Cat Cafe Thanks for reading! ~Yani
