She then hummed , rocking between the balls of her feet and her toes . “ Curious . . . What hairdos should a snowman have ? ”

“ I do believe I said people . And a snowman is most certainly not people . ” She paused , placing a finger on her chin in thought . “ Unless . . . does it have a scalp , do you think ? I suppose you could patch on a bit of grass — though that might tickle dreadfully . ”

Her eyes lit up suddenly . “ Oh ! Or perhaps a hat ! Yes , a hat would do them wonders . Hats are very dignified , you know . ”

Alice paid no mind at all to the first thing said . “ Adequately ? ” she repeated , aghast . “ Oh no , far more than that ! ”

She stepped a bit closer , peering up with fascinated intensity . “ There’s shaved , you see — and then there’s you ! I daresay I could use your head as a looking glass . It’s practically blinding ! ”

“ Something I’ve lost ? ” she echoed , tapping her lip thoughtfully .

“ Well , it seems I’ve lost my head . But unfortunately I’m in no position to look for it , as I can’t take my eyes off of yours . ”

“ Because , well , you’re very bald . ”
